Paper Pumpkin Alternate
I’ve been having so much fun repurposing the November Filled with Joy Paper Pumpkin Kit for all kinds of creative projects. While the kit was designed for Christmas, I couldn’t resist stepping “outside the box” to create something totally unexpected—a Valentine’s Day card!
I’ve been die cutting the fabric from the kit’s stockings to add a fun, textured element to my cards, and I am absolutely loving the results. I was holding onto the left over fabric from the other cards I’ve created and had to find a cool use for this red and white striped fabric. I think this is a perfect way to put them to good use.
A Twist on Valentine’s Day
For this card, I decided to move away from the traditional Christmas theme of the kit and embrace the season of love. Valentine’s Day crafting is always such a joy, and this fun fold card takes it to the next level.
Creating the Heart Fountain
The striped fabric was just calling for a playful and elegant design. Using the Stampin’ Up! Hearts of Elegance Dies, I die cut hearts in various sizes to create a cascading “heart fountain” effect on the card. The stripes give the hearts so much character and really make them pop against the embossed background.
Don’t you just love when scraps or leftovers inspire something totally fresh?
Embellishing with Details
For the background, I used the Distressed Tile 3D Embossing Folder to add some beautiful texture. The embossed design pairs so well with the hearts, creating a sophisticated and layered look.
The sentiment comes from the Filled with Joy Stamp Set included in the Paper Pumpkin kit. I stamped it in bold red to tie everything together. It’s such a simple but impactful touch!
