How to Create a Handmade Holiday with the November Filled with Joy Kit
In this post, I’m excited to share how I repurposed the adorable stockings from the November Filled with Joy Paper Pumpkin Kit to create a stunning Accordion Fun Fold card. This is the second project in my series where I explore unique ways to transform this delightful kit. Whether you’re new to card-making or a seasoned pro, this project is both fun and achievable.
A Unique Twist on the Stockings: Fabric Trees
The stockings in this kit are adorable as they are, but I saw an opportunity to create something a little different. By die-cutting the fabric from the stockings, I crafted textured trees that became the focal point of this Accordion Fun Fold card. The fabric’s texture adds dimension and uniqueness, making this card stand out.
To bring the trees to life, I used Stampin’ Blends Markers to add color and shading. The Decorative Trees dies (now on the Last Chance List) provided the perfect shape for these festive creations. A touch of elegance came from the gold foil garland, while tiny ornaments—cut from the kit’s larger die cuts—added the finishing touch.
Adding Depth and Dimension
One of my favorite parts of this card design is the background. The Painted Trees 3D Embossing Folder creates subtle texture that ties the whole design together. It’s a simple yet effective way to elevate the look of your cards and give them a professional feel.
Plus, this Accordion Fun Fold card folds flat to fit neatly inside a standard Medium Stampin’ Up Envelope—perfect for mailing your holiday greetings.
