Watercolor in Bloom Angled Z Fold Card (Paper Pumpkin Alternate)
If you love interactive cards that look fancy but are actually beginner-friendly, you are going to love this project. Today I’m sharing a beautiful Angled Z Fold Card created as an alternate project using the December “Watercolor in Bloom” Paper Pumpkin Kit. This fold has such a wow factor when it’s opened, yet it comes together easily with simple scoring and one angled cut.

Blog Hop Fun
I’m joining some friends today to bring you more inspiration with the Watercolor in Bloom Paper Pumpkin kit. So be sure to check out the BLOG HOPPERS links below for more inspiration.

What I really adore about this card is how it takes the soft, watercolor florals from the kit and turns them into something a little unexpected. The angled Z fold adds movement and dimension, making this card feel extra special without adding a lot of extra work. If you’re newer to card making, don’t let the fold intimidate you — I promise it’s much easier than it looks.

Why This Paper Pumpkin Kit Is Perfect for Alternate Projects
The Watercolor in Bloom Paper Pumpkin Kit is packed with gorgeous die cuts, calming green and blue tones, and versatile sentiments. Because everything coordinates so beautifully, it’s ideal for stretching beyond the original kit designs. In this alternate, I focused on layering the printed pieces and die cuts to really highlight the watercolor effect while keeping the design clean and balanced.

A Closer Look at the Angled Z Fold Technique
The Angled Z Fold is what truly steals the show here. When the card is closed, it looks polished and elegant. When opened, the angled panels reveal layers that create depth and interest from every angle. It’s a fold that works beautifully for thank you cards, encouragement cards, sympathy cards, or even thinking-of-you designs.
Because the structure is built from a single card base with layered panels, this fold is sturdy but still fits nicely in a standard envelope. That makes it both eye-catching and practical — always a win in my book.
