This beauty is part of two of my favorite series: my Fluttering Garden Paper Pumpkin Alternate Card Series AND my Double Diagonal Fun Fold Card Series — so you’re getting double the fun in one gorgeous little package!
The soft Pool Party blues, the stunning hummingbird image, and that dreamy diagonal design come together in a card that looks like it came straight out of a boutique stationery shop. And the best part? You can totally make it — yes, even if you’re brand new to card making! I’m not just winging it… this card really does have wings. 😄
Repurposed & Reimagined — Hello, Resourceful Crafter! ♻️💙
One of my absolute favorite things about this card is that it’s made almost entirely from repurposed pieces of the Fluttering Garden Paper Pumpkin kit — talk about making every single piece count!
The gorgeous Pool Party printed panels? I cut those right from the envelopes that came in the kit. That’s right — those envelopes are not just for mailing! Instead of tossing them aside, I gave them a second life as the stunning diagonal layers on this card. Each panel is cut diagonally in opposite directions, which creates that striking geometric look that is so modern and eye-catching.
The beautiful Balmy Blue ¼” Gingham Ribbon runs across the top layer, adding just the right touch of texture and charm. Scattered across the card are the sparkling embellishments from the kit — tiny gold gems that catch the light like little drops of sunshine. ✨ This card is proof that with a little creativity, nothing from your Paper Pumpkin kit goes to waste!
The Fold That Makes Everyone Flip 😍📬
Now let’s talk about the fold — because this is where the magic really happens! The Double Diagonal Fun Fold is one of those folds that looks incredibly impressive but is completely doable once you see it in action. The card base is scored and cut in a very specific way so that when it opens, it reveals TWO diagonal panels that open in opposite directions — almost like a little envelope unfolding itself. It’s such a satisfying and unexpected reveal!

Instructions & Free PDF Download
I’ve got you fully covered with everything you need to make this card! The written instructions include all the measurements and a step-by-step cut diagram so you can follow along at your own pace. The card base uses an 11″ x 8½” piece of Basic White cardstock scored at 5½” and 4¼” — and the diagram on page two of the PDF makes it super easy to see exactly what to cut and what to keep.
