About These Cards — Hummingbird Magic in Every Flutter!
If you’ve been looking for a way to take your Fluttering Garden Paper Pumpkin Kit to the next level, you are going to absolutely love this alternate card set! I repurposed the gorgeous pieces from the kit to create two stunning handmade cards featuring the most darling hummingbirds — because honestly, these little beauties deserve to be shown off!
I guess you could say they really made quite an im-pression! 😄 Whether you’re a seasoned stamper or just dipping your toes into paper crafting, this project is approachable, fun, and absolutely beautiful.
The Products That Make These Cards Shine ✨
What really takes these cards from pretty to showstopping is the Stampin’ Up! Garden Textures Specialty Foil Sheets. These foils are shiny and stunning on their own, but when you run them through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machinewith the Sunflower 3D Embossing Folder, the texture becomes absolutely breathtaking.
I used two colorways — a bold magenta and a rich navy — both paired with Basic Black cardstock for a dramatic, polished look. The shimmer of the embossed foil background paired with the delicate hummingbird cutouts from the kit creates a card that feels truly high-end. Additionally, the Stylish Shapes Dies make cutting those perfect circles a total breeze, even for beginners!
Two Ways to Customize Your Card 🎨
One of my favorite things about this project is that there are two ways to handle the sentiment circle, so you can tailor it to what works best for you! On one card, I used the word circle die cut that comes right in the kit — easy, no stamping required, and it looks fantastic on the card front.
On the other card, I stamped sentiments from the kit onto Basic White cardstock and used the Stylish Shapes Dies to cut my own circles — then I used the die cut word pieces on the inside of the card for a gorgeous surprise when it opens. Either way, the result is a clean, polished, professional-looking handmade card that’s anything but ordinary!
Perfect Occasions for These Cards 💌
Because the sentiments included in this kit are so versatile, these cards work beautifully for just about any occasion. The “Hello” circle is perfect for a thinking of you card or a simple friendship card — you know, for when you just want to reach out and brighten someone’s day.
The “I’m So Grateful For You” sentiment makes a heartfelt thank you card, and when paired with that stunning embossed foil background, it feels extra special. These would also be lovely for birthday cards, encouragement cards, or even just a sweet note tucked into a gift. Honestly, they’re so beautiful, your recipients may not even want to open them — they’ll want to frame them instead!
Instructions
I have full written instructions with measurements and step-by-step guidance included right here on the blog — so don’t worry, I’ve got you covered from start to finish! The basic steps involve embossing your Garden Textures Foil with the Sunflower 3D Embossing Folder, cutting your circles using Stylish Shapes Dies, stamping or using your kit’s pre-cut word circles for sentiments, and assembling everything with Stampin’ Seal and Stampin’ Dimensionals for that beautiful layered, dimensional look. Easy, fun, and so satisfying!
