Are you ready to create fun, interactive birthday cards that are bursting with celebration? In today’s handmade card tutorial, I’m sharing the first installment in my Pop Out Z Fold Series—a bright and cheery birthday card set that’s as fun to make as it is to receive! Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced card maker, this fold is easy to master, and I’ll walk you through it step by step in my video class.

About This Card Tutorial
These birthday celebration cards are designed to be interactive and festive, making them perfect for any birthday recipient. The Pop Out Z Fold adds a fun element of surprise, and best of all, these cards fold flat to fit in a standard envelope for easy mailing!

For this project, I used the Stampin’ Up! Wildflower Birthday Specialty Designer Paper, which includes pre-printed die cuts of beautiful flowers, balloons, and party elements. The elegant gold foil accents give the cards an extra special touch. No fussy cutting or stamping is needed—just pop out the die cuts and assemble!

To add the perfect sentiments, I used the Greetings for All Ephemera Pack. This versatile pack includes pre-printed die-cut words for every occasion, so you can easily customize your card by swapping out the greeting.

Why You’ll Love This Design
No stamping required – Great for quick and easy crafting.
Uses pre-cut elements – The die cuts from the Wildflower Birthday Specialty Paper make designing effortless.
Perfect for all occasions – Change up the greeting to create cards for different events.
Fits in a standard envelope – These interactive cards fold flat, making them easy to send.

How to Mail This Card
These Pop Out Z Fold cards fit into a standard-sized envelope, making them easy to send. However, if you add a lot of dimension, such as extra embellishments or foam adhesive, you may need additional postage. Be sure to check with your local post office before mailing.

Inspiration Behind the Fold
I was inspired to create this card after receiving a beautiful handmade card from my Stampin’ Up! up-line, Judy Micoley. She used the Beautiful Butterflies Bundle and the Bloom Impressions Designer Series Paper (which you can earn free during Sale-A-Bration through February 28!). Her design sparked an idea, and I knew I had to try this fold with a bright birthday theme.
