Today, I’m thrilled to share a tutorial on a sweet card and book box set, perfect for the holiday season. For this project, I repurposed pieces from the popular Nests of Christmas Paper Pumpkin Kit, adding a few unique touches to make these creations shine. Whether you’re a seasoned cardmaker or just starting, this tutorial will walk you through the basics, and I promise it’s simpler than it looks!

About This Project: Repurposed Elegance
In this set, I crafted two cards and a charming book box using elements from the Paper Pumpkin kit, along with coordinating products from the Stampin’ Up! Nests of Winter Designer Series Paper and Stylish Shapes Dies. The best part? This project not only looks elegant, but it’s also easy to adapt and make your own.
Card Design Highlights
Each card features unique touches that bring the wintery, cozy feel to life:
- Stylish Shapes Dies: I started by cutting a circle from the Stylish Shapes dies for the front of the card, giving it a polished, dimensional look. For a surprise, I used the cut-out circle on the inside of the card, tying the front and inside together seamlessly.
- Bird Details: On one card, I used the designer paper from the coordinating Nests of Winter suite, which added a natural, rustic look to the bird image. The other card has a die-cut bird from the kit, perched over a background cut from one of the kit’s envelopes—an easy way to use every piece creatively!
Book Box: A Festive Keepsake
The real star of this project is the Book Box. Perfect for gifting small treats or trinkets, this box adds a handcrafted touch to any holiday gift.
- Country Birdhouse Dies: The birdhouse on the box front was cut using the Country Birdhouse Dies, creating a focal point that’s both whimsical and warm.
- Versatile “Merry” Tag: This month’s Paper Pumpkin kit coordinates with the Merry Tags & More Dies, which I used for the “Merry” sentiment. These dies are so versatile and can be adapted to countless projects. I also added some delicate foliage to complete the festive look.
