Falling in Love with Star Folds (Again!)
You guys, I am absolutely obsessed with this fold. If you’ve never tried a star fold card before, buckle up — because once you make one, you’re going to want to make ten. I created this set of two star fun fold cards using the gorgeous Stampin’ Up! Velvet Meadow designer series paper, paired with the Classic Greetings sentiments hot foiled in a soft light pink. The result? A card that pops up into a little floral surprise every time it’s opened. It’s part card, part mini art installation, and 100% “ooh and ahh” material.
The Design Story Behind These Cards
What I love most about the star fold is that it’s equal parts clever engineering and pure floral drama. As the card opens, those folded paper panels rise up into a dimensional star shape, showcasing the Velvet Meadow florals from every angle.
Meanwhile, the sentiment panel sits front and center, foiled in that soft pink shimmer that catches the light just right. It’s a card that does a little “wow” reveal without you having to be a die-cutting wizard to pull it off.
