A Fun Fold That’s (Almost) as Fun to Say as It Is to Make

Well friends, I am SO excited to share these with you today! These are the very first cards in my brand-new Miura Fun Fold series — and yes, I dare you to say “Miura Fun Fold” three times fast without grinning. Here’s a fun little tidbit: the Miura fold is actually named after a Japanese astrophysicist who designed it to fold up solar panels for space (no pressure, but your card is basically rocket science now).

These are the very first cards in my brand-new Miura Fun Fold series — and yes, I dare you to say "Miura Fun Fold" three times fast without grinning. Here's a fun little tidbit: the Miura fold is actually named after a Japanese astrophysicist who designed it to fold up solar panels for space (no pressure, but your card is basically rocket science now).

For these debut beauties, I reached for the gorgeous new Stampin’ Up! Violet Dreams Suite, and let me just say… it did not disappoint. Originally, I designed these little stunners for a summer-themed blog hop, but honestly? They’re far too pretty to keep boxed into one season.

I Couldn't Pick a Mood, So I Made Both

Now, normally I show you one card and call it a day, but this fold had me so inspired that I made it in two completely different vibes — and I genuinely can't decide which one I love more. The first is soft and romantic, all dreamy lavenders and blush pinks with a delicate "Happy Birthday to You" oval tucked into a bed of violets.

The second went full drama queen: a moody navy and charcoal version with crisp white blooms, a polka-dot background, and an “I appreciate you” sentiment that feels downright elegant. Same fold, two totally different personalities. So whether you’re a soft-and-sweet crafter or a bold-and-moody one, this card has a side for you.

Meet the Violet Dreams Suite (Releasing July 2!)

Let’s talk about the star of the show, because this suite is a whole moment. The Violet Dreams Suite releases July 2 and includes the lovely Framed Violets Bundle — coordinating stamps and dies that make those frame-worthy violets come together so easily. Then, just when you think it can’t get better, you add a little sparkle with the Shimmering Stripes Specialty Paper, soften everything up with the Adhesive-Backed Blooms and Fresh Freesia Satin Ribbon, and suddenly your card looks like it cost a fortune (your secret’s safe with me). It’s the kind of collection that makes crafting feel polished and personal, even if you’re brand new and still figuring out which end of the bone folder is which. Just add your ink, cardstock, and adhesive, and you’re ready to roll.

So Many Reasons to Make One (or Five)

Here's what I adore about these cards: the violets and soft sentiments make them perfect for practically any moment that calls for a handmade hug. The suite includes greetings like "Happy Birthday," "Sending Love," "I appreciate you," and "Take Care," so you're covered for birthdays, thank-yous, thinking-of-you notes, and get-well wishes right out of the gate.

Beyond that, they'd be right at home as bridal or baby shower cards, Mother's Day greetings, or sweet little hostess gifts. Plus — and this is my favorite part — the Miura fold lets the card stand up all on its own (especially with that optional kickstand back panel), so your handiwork becomes a mini display piece on someone's desk or mantel. In other words: make a stack now, thank yourself later.
