Summer Happiness Miura Fold Cards — A Little Pocketful of Sunshine ☀️
About This Card
Well friends, summer is officially here, and I could not resist soaking up every sunny minute of it! This is the next stop on my Miura Fun Fold series, and honestly, it might be my favorite one yet. If you’ve never made a Miura fold before, here’s the magic: the card lies perfectly flat, but the moment you open it, it pops right up into a fun zigzag display that practically shows off by itself. It’s the card-making equivalent of a party trick — flat one second, “ta-da!” the next.

For this one, I reached for the brand-new Stampin’ Up! Summer Happiness Bundle and coordinating Washi Tape, and the whole thing came together in sunny Coastal Cabana and cheerful yellows that just scream “let’s go to the beach.”
Why I’m Head-Over-Flip-Flops for the Summer Happiness Bundle
Now, let me tell you about this bundle, because I am completely smitten. The Summer Happiness Bundle is packed with all the good stuff — sunglasses, flip flops, a little camera, a juicy pineapple, a cheerful sun, and the sweetest “Summer Adventures” sentiment. Plus, the coordinating dies mean no fussy hand-cutting (my scissors are thrilled).

The Washi Tape Trick I Can’t Stop Talking About
Here’s where things get really fun. Instead of stamping every single image, I grabbed the Summer Happiness Washi Tape and ran it through my Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine with the coordinating dies. Yep — you can die-cut washi tape! First, I backed the tape with a strip of white cardstock so the images would really pop, and then I cut away.

It’s a genius little shortcut that gives you perfectly colored images in seconds, and it makes this card feel a bit like a treasure hunt of tiny summery details. For the sentiment, I heat embossed “Summer Adventures” in crisp white on black cardstock, because a little sparkle never hurt anybody.

So Many Occasions, So Little Summer
Best of all, this cheerful little fold works for just about any warm-weather moment. For instance, it makes a darling summer birthday card, a “thinking of you” note for a friend on vacation, or a bon voyage card for someone chasing their own summer adventures.

Meanwhile, it’s also perfect for graduation season, an end-of-year teacher thank you, or simply a “just because” card to brighten someone’s mailbox. And thanks to the handy kickstand on the back, the recipient can prop it up on a shelf and keep a little slice of summer around long after the card arrives. Honestly, who wouldn’t want that?
