Handmade Holiday Cards with a Twist: Traditions of Christmas Fun Fold Cards
There’s something magical about creating holiday cards that surprise and delight—especially when they’re interactive! Today, I’m excited to share two elegant fun fold cards I made using the brand new Stampin’ Up! Traditions of Christmas Suite from the 2025 Holiday Mini Catalog. These festive beauties feature stunning folds, sparkling gold details, and lots of surprises inside.
Whether you’re a seasoned paper crafter or just starting out, these cards are both achievable and impressive. Let’s take a closer look at how they came together!
The Cards: Angled Folds and Pull-Out Surprises
I created two coordinating fun fold cards using angled cuts for a striking front design—and each one opens to reveal a pull-out surprise inside!

The Traditional Labels Dies were used for the greetings on the front.

I used the Christmas Greenery Dies to cut out poinsettias and holly directly from the DSP. It’s such a fun way to add dimension and coordination!

For the interactive pull-out piece, I reached for the Textured Notes Dies.

To give both cards a little shimmer and elegance, I layered in Gold Foil and added highlights from the Metallic Textures Rub Ons.
The result? Cards that not only look stunning but also feel like a gift when opened.
Mail-Friendly But Worth the Extra Postage
Even with all the folds and layers, these cards fold flat and fit into a standard-sized envelope. However, due to the layers and dimension, you might need an extra postage stamp when mailing—totally worth it for the wow factor!
