Hello, friends!
Today I’m sharing a set of two handmade cards featuring the Stampin’ Up!® Lights of Aurora Suite—both created with the Double Gatefold technique. This fancy fold was the star of last week’s video class and is part of my ongoing series on unique, beginner-friendly fun folds. If you love layered silhouettes against a magical night sky, you’re going to adore these.

Why this suite shines
The Lights of Aurora Designer Series Paper captures the Northern Lights with dreamy, atmospheric skies. Paired with the Light & Wonder Dies, you can layer mountains and trees to create crisp silhouettes that pop beautifully against the aurora backgrounds. The Light & Wonder Stamp Set also includes fantastic fonts and sentiments—clean, modern, and versatile for so many occasions.

The two designs
-
Berry Burst Double Gatefold
I stamped sentiments from the Light & Wonder Stamp Set. The bold Berry Burst tones warm up the cool night sky for a striking contrast that still feels elegant.

- Pool Party Double Gatefold
For this version, I used sentiments from the Greetings for All Ephemera Pack—quick, polished, and perfect when you want a professional look in seconds. The soft Pool Party palette highlights the aurora glow and lets the die-cut silhouettes do the talking.

When to send these cards
These cards work for birthdays, holidays, congratulations, promotions, retirement, and special milestones. Because the design is timeless and the sentiments are interchangeable, you can tailor them to almost any occasion.

What about the envelope?
This fancy fold still folds flat and fits in a standard Medium (A2) envelope. Since there’s extra dimension from the layers, snail mailing may require additional postage.

How to make them
I’ve put together step-by-step instructions and measurements in the tutorial section below, and you can also watch the Double Gatefold Class video for visual, beginner-friendly guidance. If you’re new to card making, start with the video—then follow along with the written steps to finish like a pro.

Hi Tami. This is a gorgeous card, but I’ve got a problem with the dimensions for the DSP. When you add up the widths of the 4 panels, it adds up to 6 1/2″. The DSP is only 6: wide. How did you make it work?
You will need more than 1 piece.
