Happy Thanksgiving! Hope everyone has a wonderful day of rest, relaxation and togetherness with family and/or friends. My boys and I will be celebrating with family at my Mom's new place here in town. It's her first time hosting in her new home and we're all looking forward to it.
Today's share is a fun "give thanks" card. Using the baby wipe technique, placing ink pad refill drops on a baby wipe in various colors to "make your own ink pad". Then stamping on the Ivory naturals. The wreath is made to look like it's hanging on a door but cutting a square out of the front panel and placing the window sheet behind it. This is one of my 113 Founders Circle swaps, this one by Nancy Lewis.

The White Christmas stamp set in the Stampin Up holiday catalog is my all time favorite stamp set. I got to name this set, and I will forever cherish it. I love everything about it. Today's card is just flippin' adorable with the Christmas Tree on the station wagon. Does this remind anyone else of the beginning scene from National Lampoon's "Christmas Vacation"? The Griswald's cutting down their tree. One of our Christmas favorites, we watch it every year and it never gets old lol! Designed by Veronica.

November represents a time of Thanksgiving and appreciation to me. So grateful for all of you, for my family, and friends. After losing a good friend this week, I can't stop hugging my boys and telling them how much I love them. Never miss a chance to show your gratitude.

I have a different kind of a share today. Instead of "crafting inspiration", I'm sharing "personal inspiration" in the form of a friend, mother and angel who's dedicated her life to helping others. And shown me how to live, even when your time is short.
You may remember last week I did the Colon Cancer Walk in support of my friend Debbie Whitmore (click here for story). Debbie has stage 4 metastic colon cancer, she spent last week (and the last of her 'good days') in Disney World on the "trip of a lifetime" with her husband and 4 children. The trip was funded by a "Gofundme" from all of her friends, the Whitmores had never been to Disney and we chipped in to make that dream come true...which it did.
The day before they were scheduled to come home, Debbie was becoming jaundice and was rushed home from Florida. She went directly to Brigham & Women's hospital. Where she learned that her liver was in end stage failure. She went home from the hospital Monday night, to be at peace with her family (and begin hospice). Last night, she left this earth to be with the Lord. It was very quick and an emotional week. God is at work, and he has called an angel to be with him. She leaves behind a family of amazing kids, who will carry on her legacy.
Debbie has been such a huge inspiration to me, and a hero. It's hard to believe these pictures of her and her family were from just last week. I have posted a couple of videos below - Debbie did these interviews for NESN and WEEI a couple of months ago. Her beautiful smile and personality shine through every word and I hope she can inspire you too.

CARD: Thinking of You for all of the Cancer Warriors out there

Today's card, designed by Veronica, goes out to all of you Cancer Warriors, survivors and those who were taken in the battle. You are heroes.
Tomorrow I will be participating in the 2014 Boston Get Your Rear In Gear 5K Run/Walk, an event to benefit the Colon Cancer Coalition. On behalf of my friend Debbie Rech-Whitmore, who is cancer warrior and inspiration. I want to carry the torch for her when she can't be there.
A very brief background for Debbie: In Nov 2011, Debbie was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic colon cancer. Her prognosis was not very good. But Debbie is a fighter and has surpassed all expectations that the doctors had given her. However, in September 2014, her body is just not able to continue to fight off the cancer, which has spread to many places including her spine and hip, causing excruciating pain and more recently to her cerebellum, which affects her balance. Debbie is our Wonder Woman! But she Is also a realist. She has set up the appointment for the "bridge to hospice".
I am going to shamelessly ask all of my friends to donate any amount you can in an effort to help with prevention, early detection and treatment for this disease. Cancer has affected so many in our lives. it's time we made BIG strides in the area. A donation in any amount helps: ($5, $10, $20) - click on the button that says "Support Tami" (it's in green on the right of the page) I do have a set amount but my hope is that I can blow it out of the water with all your support. Thank you all in advance.
