Celebrating Spring Slimline Card – A Paper Pumpkin Alternate Tutorial
A Fun Spring Card That Practically Jumps Off the Table!
If you’ve been following along for a while, you know I love to take a Paper Pumpkin kit and think outside the box — and this month’s Celebrating Spring Paper Pumpkin Kit gave me SO much to work with! Today I’m sharing a gorgeous slimline card I made using repurposed pieces from the kit, and honestly, I’m a little obsessed with how it turned out.
That pretty Easter basket filled with colorful eggs, the sweet little “Hello Friend” banner, the dainty daffodil florals — it all just comes together into something that feels extra special. If you’ve ever wanted to make a card that looks like it came from a boutique shop, this is the one!
What really takes this card to the next level is the combination of the Paper Pumpkin kit pieces with the Stampin’ Up! Pleasant Patterns Specialty Designer Series Paper. That diagonal stripe pattern in a fresh, vibrant Shy Shamrock green gives the card so much energy and spring-time charm. And because it’s a specialty paper, it has a subtle shimmer and texture that just makes everything pop.
I wrapped a piece of the pink twine from the kit right across the designer paper for a sweet little detail, and it adds just the right touch of softness against all that gorgeous green. Even if you’re brand new to card making, I promise — when the supplies are this beautiful, they do a lot of the work for you!
One of my favorite details on this card is the Shy Shamrock color palette. It’s such a fresh, happy green — not too bold, not too soft — and it ties the whole design together beautifully. The die-cut circles from the Spotlight on Nature Diescreate a layered focal point that highlights that adorable basket, and the white circle is embossed with the Beautiful Pattern Embossing Folder, giving it a lacy, elegant look. Plus, those little sequins from the kit scattered around? Chef’s kiss. ✨ It’s those small finishing touches that make a handmade card feel truly luxurious.
This slimline style card is absolutely perfect for so many occasions! Of course, it’s an obvious choice for Easter, but it also works beautifully as a spring greeting, a thinking of you card, a birthday card, or even just a cheerful “hello” to brighten someone’s day.

The card uses a Basic White card base scored to create that slim, elegant shape, and the Pleasant Patterns Designer Series Paper layered on top does most of the heavy decorating for you.
