Floating Frame Card with Painterly Pears
Have you ever seen a card that looks like the elements are magically hovering in place? That’s the beauty of the Floating Frame Technique—and it’s easier to create than it looks!
In today’s tutorial, I’m sharing a handmade card I crafted using the gorgeous Stampin’ Up! Painterly Pears Designer Series Paper, paired (pun intended!) with the Perfectly Pears stamp and die bundle. This sweet sentiment—”A good friend is a gift”—feels right at home nestled among these luscious pears and soft florals.
What I Love About This Technique
I absolutely love using the Floating Frame technique when I want to showcase beautiful artwork from designer paper. It gives the illusion that the die cuts are suspended in air. The secret is a bit of Press ’n Seal (yes, the kitchen wrap!) to hold everything in place while creating that window effect.
What makes this even better? The Perfectly Pears Dies coordinate perfectly with the images in the Painterly Pears DSP, so no fussy cutting needed! Just die cut your pieces straight from the paper and you’re halfway there.
