Handmade Adorable Monster Cards
If you’ve been following along, you know how much I love combining crafting classics with a fun twist. Yesterday, I shared a card and box set inspired by the timeless Christmas tale, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.
While working on that project, something magical happened. Remember the old commercial where chocolate meets peanut butter to create the perfect Reese’s Cup? That was my crafting table yesterday—except it wasn’t candy. It was icicles and a Christmas classic colliding to inspire a new idea!
From Rudolph to Bumbles
As I worked with the Frozen Edges Dies for my Rudolph-themed project, my mind wandered to another beloved character from the same movie: Bumbles, the Abominable Snowman. And just like that, a new card idea was born!
The first version of my Bumbles card was simple, featuring plain Basic White cardstock. But as I stepped back, I felt it needed a little extra something. Enter: Shimmer Emboss Paste. Adding this to the front of the card gave Bumbles a sparkling, frosty texture that brought him to life. It was exactly what the card needed to capture his icy charm!

A Spark of Inspiration: Cookie Monster
While creating my spin-off Bumbles card, another beloved monster popped into my head. This time, it wasn’t snowy—it was blue and loves cookies. You guessed it—Cookie Monster!
I just knew the card design would be perfect for him. Swapping Basic White for Blueberry Bushel cardstock and adding some cute cookie details took this design in a whole new direction. I used the Stampin’ Up! Mini Alphabet Dies to spell out “C is for…” and the Perfect Pair stamp set to craft the adorable cookies.
And for the inside? The More than Autumn Dies made it impossible to resist adding “Nothing’s Better Than” as the finishing touch.
