Christmas Barn [Side Step Series Card 10]

This winter scene literally pops into life with the side step fun fold. I created it with the Stampin Up Christmas Barn Bundle. This bundle came out in the July-December (Holiday) Mini Catalog. I love how the words float in the background. I designed this card for our Stamp It Group’s Christmas in July Blog Hop. I have written instructions for this card, side step fun fold template and video tutorial sharing how to make this fold below. In addition there are links to the rest of the cards in this series.

The Stampin Up Christmas Barn bundle is a beautiful set. I think the barn can be used for other occasions by coloring grass green instead of snow. What do you think?

I colored the images with the Stampin’ Blends markers. I have a color chart below (and on the instruction sheet) sharing the colors I used for each piece.

I used the snow drift edgelit from the Barn Dies on each of the steps to create a layered 3-d effect with the horse drawn sleigh passing through.

I recommend using Adhesive Sheets on the Vellum Card Stock instead of Seal Adhesive. I hate to point out my boo boos but the Seal Adhesive shows through vellum and the Adhesive Sheet doesn’t. I wasn’t thinking of that when I was designing the card and now you’ll see it since I point it out lol.

The words are heat embossed in Copper which is part of the Metallics Embossing Collection.

Here’s a view of the card flat so you can see each step. I placed the pond and barn strategically to hid the seam where the white shimmery from the front step meets the right side panel so it looks like it’s all 1 piece.

This is my color guide for the Stampin’ Blend Markers.

    Tami,
I absolutely LOVE this Christmas Barn card! I want to CASE it for a shoe box swap.

  2. I love the card, but I am confused about the snow drift edgelit – there isn’t one in the barn dies. Did it come from another set?

    • Thank you so much! I’m thrilled you love it. The snowdrift is from the Gingerbread House die set. That is listed in the supply list. I’m sorry I didn’t specifically name it when typing the instructions.
