All the Carnival Feels in One Gorgeous Card
If you love a card that stops people in their tracks, then buckle up — because this Beach Boardwalk Double Diagonal Fold Card is giving all the summery, carnival-at-the-boardwalk vibes! This beauty is part of my Double Diagonal Series, and honestly, it might be one of my favorite cards in the whole collection.
The soft minty Coastal Cabana base is topped with the most dreamy Beach Boardwalk Designer Series Paper — we’re talking pastel balloons floating up, a cotton candy treat, carnival tickets, and a pink carousel peeking out in the background. It’s cheerful, it’s fun, and it totally makes you want a funnel cake.
The Fun Fold That Does All the Work
What really makes this card shine — besides those gorgeous colors — is the Double Diagonal fold. Two diagonal cuts on the card base create a layered, eye-catching design that looks seriously impressive but is totally doable, even if you’re brand new to fun folds!
I’ve included a full cutting diagram and measurements in the instructions below, plus there’s a video from my Slimline Lapel Fun Fold class that walks you through making the card base step by step. Once you get the hang of it, you’ll want to make this fold with every suite in your stash. It adds so much visual interest and works beautifully for just about any occasion.
Now let’s talk about these products, because I have ALL the feelings. The Beach Boardwalk 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper is absolutely stunning — the patterns are so well coordinated that you simply fussy cut the balloons, cotton candy, and carnival tickets right from the paper itself. And then there’s the Boardwalk Fun Dies — oh my goodness, that ferris wheel die is everything. It cuts a gorgeous detailed ferris wheel that I used on the inside of the card, paired with a simple “Hello” sentiment.
Hurry — These Are Retiring!
Here’s the thing, friends — I need you to pay attention to this part! The Beach Boardwalk Suite is retiring, which means once it’s gone, it’s gone for good. The stamp set has already sold out, so don’t wait on the Boardwalk Fun Dies — that fabulous ferris wheel die is still available and it is absolutely worth having as a standalone die set. One of the things I love most about this card — beyond how pretty it is — is just how versatile it is. The “Celebrate” sentiment on the front makes it perfect for birthdays, of course, but the fun, festive design also works wonderfully for summer hellos, graduations, end-of-school celebrations, friend cards, or really any time you want to put a big smile on someone’s face. Because honestly, who receives a card with balloons and cotton candy and doesn’t smile? This is the kind of handmade card that people keep. It’s special, it’s thoughtful, and it shows just how much a handmade card can do that a store-bought one simply can’t.
