Double Pocket Fold Cards – Handmade Card Tutorial
I’m traveling home from Stampin’ Up!’s OnStage Event in Raleigh, NC today, and wow, do I have so much to share with you tomorrow! But for today, I wanted to highlight a special handmade card I created for my fellow Stamp It Demonstrators who attended the event—Double Pocket Fold Cards! These cards are not only beautiful but also incredibly functional.
A Special Gift for a Special Occasion
Attending Stampin’ Up! events is always an inspiring experience, and I love making something meaningful for my team. This year, I designed these Double Pocket Fold Cards using the stunning Perennial Lavender Designer Series Paper as the base.
The pockets in this design made it perfect for holding a small surprise, and I was thrilled to include a personalized Stampin’ Up! Bone Folder with a custom “Stamp It” logo, made by my friend Tamra Davis.
Each card also included a second pocket, where I tucked in a coordinating tag—the perfect spot for a handwritten note to let my team know how much I appreciate them!
The Perfect Fold for Gifting
This fun fold isn’t just decorative—it’s functional too! The first pocket securely held the customized Bone Folder, making it a great way to present a small gift. The second pocket was ideal for adding a personal touch with a handwritten message or even slipping in a gift card.
If you’d prefer a different approach, you can also use two tags instead of the Bone Folder. This allows for even more customization—one tag for a heartfelt note and another for an inspiring quote, stamped sentiment, or even a mini photo.
I waited until after the event to share these with you because I wanted them to be a surprise for my team. Seeing their reactions in person made all the effort worth it! Here’s a picture of us at dinner one night.
How Do I Mail This Card?
If you’re wondering about mailing this card, here’s what you need to know:

The card base fits into a standard-sized envelope.

However, with the Bone Folder included, it extends beyond the standard size. To accommodate it, I used 5” x 7” Vellum Envelopes, which I found on Amazon. I’ve included a link in the tutorial for your convenience.

Since I handed mine out in person, I didn’t need to worry about postage. If mailing, be sure to check with your local post office for any additional costs.
