Woolly Friends Slimline Lapel Fun Fold Card Tutorial
If you love cards that wow when they’re opened, you’re going to adore today’s project from my Slimline Lapel Fun Fold Card series! This cheerful handmade card features the sweet sheep from the Stampin’ Up! Woolly Friends Bundle, and it may just be one of my favorite fun folds yet. Not only does it look impressive, but it’s also surprisingly easy to make — perfect for both beginners and seasoned card makers alike.
To bring this design to life, I paired two gorgeous patterned paper collections: the soft spring tones from the Easter Joy Designer Series Paper along with the bold and playful designs from the Mixed Up Patterns Designer Series Paper.
Together, they create beautiful contrast while keeping the card bright, happy, and eye-catching. The layered lapel panels give the card wonderful movement and depth, making it feel extra special without being complicated.
Of course, the real star of this card is that adorable little sheep! The Woolly Friends stamps and coordinating punch make it incredibly easy to create cute focal points in just minutes. I added a bit of coloring with Stampin’ Blends to give the images dimension and personality, which really makes the card pop against the patterned backgrounds. It’s a fun, relaxing way to add professional-looking detail — even if you’re brand new to coloring.
This slimline fun fold card is incredibly versatile too. While I leaned into a spring and Easter vibe, it works beautifully for birthdays, thank you cards, baby showers, encouragement, and just-because happy mail. Simply swap out the greeting or paper patterns and you’ve got a whole new look. That’s one of my favorite things about fun fold designs — once you learn the fold, you can use it over and over with different themes.
