So I had a little bit of paper crafting fun this weekend decorating my house for Easter. It snowed all weekend—which made it even more fun to bring in some flowers and pretty spring colors to freshen up my decor. I kept the projects very simple and inexpensive, and I am loving how it turned out! 

For my chalkboard Easter eggs, I picked up the super cheap plastic Easter eggs at the store. I bought two bags, one small and one large. I punched holes in the tops of all the eggs with my Paper-Piercing Tool. Then I pulled the eggs apart, set them on a piece of cardboard, and spray painted them with matte black spray paint and let them dry.  

I decorated the large eggs by wrapping the Delicate Details Lace Tape around the egg. To get the tape to mold to the rounded shape, I put my Paper-Piercing Tool through the hole to hold it while I gave the egg a quick shot with my Heat Tool. (The ribbon melts to the egg really quickly, so be careful!)

For the smaller eggs I added little polka dots by sticking Glue Dots all over the egg, sprinkling with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder, and giving it a really quick shot of heat. (When setting the embossing powder, make sure to use the lower heat setting and watch it very carefully.)

To get the powdery chalkboard look, dust your egg with the Embossing Buddy. If you don’t love black eggs for Easter (yes, it is a bit untraditional!) you can do this with eggs of any color.

I made the wall flowers with the Big Shot and the Floral Frames Framelits Dies. I made two sizes. For the larger flower, I cut two flowers from the two largest sizes, then one of each for the remaining sizes. For the smaller flower, I did the same thing but did not use the largest flower. Then I dipped the flowers in water and crinkled them up a little. After they dried, I glued them together and put them on my wall using a tacky adhesive. (That way they will be easy to remove and will not damage my wall when I am done with them.)

For my twig blossoms, I inked and brayered the Creped Filter Paper with the colors I wanted. I used Baja Breeze, Pretty in Pink, and Summer Starfruit Classic Stampin’ Pads. For each blossom, I punched out four flowers with the 1-1/4″ Scallop Circle Punch and folded up each punched flower from the center. I used the Silicone Craft Sheet, made a small dab of glue with a hot glue gun, and placed the end of each folded flower around the dab of glue. I punched out two little petals from the Blossom Petals Punch and glued them to the back of the blossom. I then put a small dab of glue on the finished blossom and glued it to the twigs.

I love how the table runner turned out . . . and it was so super simple! I bought a cheap, plain white table runner at Target. I used the Pink Pirouette/Rose Red 1-1/4″ Two-Tone Ribbon and So Saffron 3/8″ Taffeta Ribbon to make the stripes. I cut each stripe so there would be an extra 1/4″ on each side. To adhere the ribbon to the table runner, I used iron-on adhesive tape. (You can purchase this tape at any craft store.) It is so easy to work with! I put the adhesive tape on the table runner, placed the ribbon over the top of it, and ironed it on. I then folded over the extra 1/4″ and used the hot glue gun to glue it down on the back.

I hope this gives you a few fun and easy ideas for some Easter/spring projects to make for your home!
