Pop Up Gift Card Holder – Elegant Pine Snowflakes
Today I’m sharing my blog hop project, and I’m so excited about this one! This handmade card features a surprise pop-up gift card holder inside—an extra-special touch that instantly turns a simple gift card into a heartfelt holiday keepsake. I designed this project using the Stampin’ Up! Elegant Pine Snowflakes Suite, and its timeless winter imagery truly brings the “wow factor” to both the outside and inside of the card.
About the Card
This card may look like a classic holiday greeting on the outside, but once you open it, the magic happens. A cleverly engineered pop-up mechanism lifts the gift card upright as the card opens. It’s such a fun moment, and it really delights the recipient—perfect for teachers, coworkers, friends, family, or anyone who loves an extra surprise.
For this design, I paired the bold pine greenery, delicate snowflakes, and rich winter textures from the Elegant Pine Snowflakes Suite. The suite is filled with natural imagery, crisp snowflake details, warm pinecones, and touches of metallic shine. The coordinating paper adds a beautiful forest-inspired backdrop, and the dies layer effortlessly to create that big statement snowflake focal point.
I added dimension with layered die-cut pieces, textured backgrounds, and a color palette that feels fresh, classic, and wintry all at once. Whether you’re an experienced card maker or brand new to paper crafting, this project is easy to customize—and the pop-up mechanism is much simpler than it looks.
The Surprise Gift Card Pop-Up
Inside the card, you’ll find the interactive pop-up feature that makes this card truly special. As soon as the recipient opens it, the gift card automatically lifts up and forward. It’s one of those little engineering tricks that adds huge impact!
Even better, the card still folds completely flat, making it easy to mail. It fits perfectly inside a standard card envelope, and depending on embellishments, may require a touch of extra postage.
