Welcome to the Sweet Shop

Posted on July 28th, 2010, 5 responses.

Welcome to the Sweet Shop! This was an entire display “shop” set up at Stampin’ Up!’s convention this year. It was the coolest thing!!

Everything in the sweet shop was made of stamps, ink, paper and SU embellishments, but it all looked real enough to eat! Amazing. Here are some highlights.

Flower Power Party Pics from Convention

Posted on July 27th, 2010, 2 responses.

dale-and-tami-flower-powerWe had a huge “Flower Power” party at Stampin’ Up!’s conventionin Salt Lake City this past week, what fun this was!! Almost everyone (but me) was dressed in “groovy garb” and it was just hilarious! The photo in the center of the collage below is of Stampin’ Up!’s Corporate Team, they all were all Groovy and Hilarious!! The picture to the right is of my self and Dale Fillmore (President of Stampin Up), and if you look below you can see him with his long black haired wig with my girls (sooooo funny).

We played lots of games for prizes at the party. My friend (and downline) Liz Miller won one of the drawings and got a fantastic stamping package!! My friends Cheryl and BJ dragged me over to play a cup stacking challenge that was super fun! I had the lowest time of the sheet at the time I played (there were only 10 names at that station at the time), I didn’t realize until after that we were competing to be in the Stampin’ Up! Game Show “Win it in a Minute” (take off on “Minute to Win It”).

I found out 2 days later that my time in in cup stacking had qualified me to be a game show contestant!! More on that to come.

#2 Demonstrator of the Year! THANK YOU!

Posted on July 26th, 2010, 5 responses.

stamp-itWOW!!!! I just got back from Stampin’ Up!’s Annual Conventionin Salt Lake City, UT, what an amazing event. I have sooo much news, ideas and more to share with you this blog will be rockin’ over the next few weeks with cool new convention ideas! One of the biggest highlights for me from convention was the annual Stampin’ Up! Awards night. This photo to the right is of a few of the demos in my group (including my mom). They are the BEST!

Upon check in I was surprised with a “Founders Circle” bag, which meant that I would be awarded a spot in the top 100 demonstrators of the company, and am invited to the annual Founder’s Circle retreat. That’s all I knew, I could have been anywhere from 100 to 1.  I was shocked and shaking when they announced I had earned:

Stampin’ Up’s #2 DEMONSTRATOR OF THE YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WOWOWOW!!! I was also awarded with #3 Sales person and #6 Recruiter! What an amazing honor! I am just completely blown away. These accomplishments are all possible thanks to my incredible customers and the demonstrators in my downline group. You gals are the BEST and I am honored to be your demonstrator, thank you for choosing me!!!

Here are some pictures from the awards, and of my FC bag and the stamp sets that came with all of the awards. I will have more pictures, fun stories and projects from convention 2010 so stay tuned!

Artistic Etchings Newsprint

artistic-etchings-no-name This simple, vintage Artistic Etchings (118517 wood, 102573 clear mount) card also used the new Newsprint Designer Series paper (117166) and the new Vintage Wallpaper impressions folder (120175). A little sponging with cherry cobbler on the edges, and a spritz gives this card the perfect amount of “vintage”.

Convention or Bust! Salt Lake City here I come

Posted on July 20th, 2010, no responses.

because-i-care-ellen-quintin

As this post makes it’s way to my blog, I’m heading out to Salt Lake City, UT for Stampin’ Up’s Annual convention!! I’m soooo stinkin’ excited I can hardly stand it. I will have lots to share from the event. One of my favorite parts of any stampin’ event is swapping, this is one of my swaps that I’m bringing. It was designed by Ellen Quinton, she used the “Because I Care” Hostess stamp set.

The background is the new Presto Patterns Specialty paper (117175) brayered with sahara sand ink. Very cool effect!

I love this stamp set! It’s brand new in the 2010-2011 Stampin Up Idea Book and Catalog, called Artistic Etchings (118517 wood, 120573 clear mount). This card was created by my downline Teresa Howe. She also used the Perfect Punches stamp set (117022 wood, 120516 clear mount) and the newsprint Designer series paper (117166).

Because I Care Hydrangea

Posted on July 17th, 2010, no responses.

because-i-care-jane-rappleyeaThis gorgeous sample of the new Because I Care hostess stamp set was created by Jane Rappleyea. She stamped the hydrangea in sahara sand and colored with stampin’ pastels. The effect is subtle and beautiful. The colors are bashful blue, chocolate chip, pacific point and very vanilla.

Because I Care card

because-i-care-sue-mcquiston I’m soooo excited about the new Stampin’ Up Idea Book and Catalog, and one of my new favorites is the Because I Care Level 1 Hostess set (118384 wood, 120118 clear mount). The hydrangea on flower image is gorgeous!! This card was created by my downline Sue McQuiston, she’s very talented and I love, love, love getting her cards. Sue enhanced this card with some sponging and used the new Vintage Wallpaper impressions (120175) folder for the Big shot for the background.

Fun Facts about this stamp set:

  • You can get this stamp set FREE with $150 online order, or workshop.
  • You can earn this set FREE when you are in one of my Clubs (local or long distance)

Where in the world is Tami - I’m back!!!

Posted on July 13th, 2010, 6 responses.

img00050I’m back! Did you miss me?

I’m so sorry for the week without posting, it was completely unexpected. We went on a family vacation to the beautiful, rocky shore of Belfast, ME last week and I thought I’d have internet access and would be able to post from the trip. Turns out I was not able to get online, which would’ve been fine had I known ahead of time, I’d have planned for it.

Sadly, while we were away we received word that a good friend had passed away from cancer. We came back early to support and celebrate her life with family and friends. After the services on Monday, Steve and I took our motorcycles out for a long ride. We wanted to enjoy some time together, and were both thinking life is too short to not take some time out.

img00056Somehow our ride landed at the Harley Davidson dealer, Steve needed a new pair of sunglasses. The next thing you know, we’re looking at new motorcycles and bidding goodbye to my Honda Shadow and driving away on a brand new 2010 Harley!! I guess the moral of the story is don’t go to the Harley dealer after a funeral when you’re feeling life’s too short…Steve got one heck of an expensive pair of sunglasses lol!

Stay tuned tomorrow when I bring cool stamping projects back to the blog!!

More Embossed Paper Daisies

Posted on July 1st, 2010, no responses.

p6153331This cool card was a lot of fun to make, I used a white cotton paper daisy (formerly from the Pretties Kit, now found in the Paper Daisies 119243) and pushed it into a versamark pad, then in gold emobssing powder. Heated and Voila! This beautiful look was born. I LOVE it!! The background is the Lattice Die (115958) for the big shot die cut machine. I used the eyelet border punch for the skirt.

Stay tuned today and tomorrow for the unveiling of the all new 2010-2011 Stampin’ Up! Idea Book and Catalog!!!
