VIDEO TUTORIAL: Chic Fleece Flower Pins
May 27, 2010 by
These fun-to-wear fabric flower pins are just amazing! My friend BJ Peters taught us how to create these using fleece (as in polar fleece) fabric at our 3rd annual Stampin Up Demonstrator Extravaganza last Saturday. I created this video tutorial (below) to demonstrate how easy these are to make.
BJ’s Big Shot Bags – Extravaganza Part 3
May 27, 2010 by
BJ Peters, from Hastings, MN was one of the guests presenters at our 3rd annual Stampin Up Demonstrator Extravaganza last Saturday. She is so amazingly talented, and has a special gift for Big Shot creations outside the box. Her presentation was on "Super sizing your Big Shot" and she really showed us how to do this and then some!
BJ’s amazing Big Shot quilts – Part 2
May 26, 2010 by
Here are a couple amazing quilts BJ Peters shared with us at the Stampin Up Demonstrator Extravaganza last Saturday. The Flowered quilt uses the Flower Die (114534), Flower Folds (115970), Scallop Square Die (115950) and even the Oval Scallop Die (114521) for the vase (which I think is pure genius!). Did you know you can cut up to 8 pieces of fabric at one time with the Big Shot die cut machine (113439)? Amazing!

New England Stampin Up Extravaganza – Part 1
May 25, 2010 by
This past Saturday, May 22 was our 3rd annual New England Stampin Up Demonstrator Extravaganza, and it was AMAZING!!! This year I co-hosted the event with Deb Valder, and we held it in Springfield, Ma. Demonstrators, customers and friends came from all over for the event. Our guest speakers Meg Loven & BJ Peters flew in from IL & MN and I was lucky enough to get to spend some time with them before the big day.
We also had fantastic technique presenters. and a room full of displays. I left so excited, and filled with ideas I didn't know which one to try first! This is the first of several posts of pictures from the event, stay tuned for tons more.
VIDEO TUTORIAL: Vellum Stained Glass
May 24, 2010 by
Here is an incredibly gorgeous card using a vellum "stained glass" technique for my series this week on the Elements of Style stamp set. It is so easy, and beautiful to do. This card also features the new Square Lattice impressions textured folder for the Big Shot Die Cut machine, which has fast become a favorite of mine. Designed by my friend and downline, Sue McQuiston.
The Elements of Style Hummingbird
May 22, 2010 by
Today I have 2 beautiful cards using the Elements of Style stamp set (118611 Wood, 120045 Clear Mount). You can see from both these pretty samples, and the previous posts this week on Elements of Style that this set is very versatile. Today's cards show the hummingbird as the focal point. I love hummingbirds, they are such beautiful creatures. The Melon Mambo card was created by Tiffany Bauer, and the Bravo Burgundy card was created by Betty Weisbrich.
Elements of Style Cracked Glass
May 20, 2010 by
Continuing on my series of the Elements of Style stamp set (118611 Wood, 120045 Clear Mount), this amazing card is another fantastic example using the "Cracked glass" technique from yesterday's video tutorial (click here to view). This card was created by Kristina Koch. Kristina used the Distressing tool from the Cutter kit (106958) to destress the edges. She also used the new Stampin' Up Square Lattice impressions folder (119976) for the textured background, and the new Presto Patterson Specialty paper (117175).
Spotlight on Elements of Style
May 19, 2010 by
Spotlighting is a technique used to draw attention to a certain part of an image, in this case the flowers from the Elements of Style stamp set (118611 Wood, 120045 Clear Mount) were stamped, colored and then punched out with the 1 1/4" Circle punch. They were layered on black circles punched with the 1 3/8" Circle punch to make them pop off the Regal Rose panel of card stock. Created by Cindy Peterson. Cindy used the Groom Specialy paper (116478) for an accent.

VIDEO TUTORIAL: Cracked Glass Butterfly
May 18, 2010 by
Watch your stress melt-away with this "stress relief" card, the tearing, crumpling and color spritzing techniques really work it out! And just wait until you get to the cracked glass technique on the butterfly, it looks like a family heirloom. You'll love this gorgeous installment in my series this week on the Elements of Style stamp set. Designed by my friend and downline, Jenni Ingerick.
New Elements of Style Series
May 17, 2010 by
This gorgeous card kicks off a series I'm doing, focusing on the Elements of Style stamp set (118611 Wood, 120045 Clear Mount) in the Stampin' Up! Summer mini catalog. Everything I've seen created with this stamp set is just gorgeous. Today's card is another great example of this, created with stampin' write markers, a little tearing and sponging for the "vintage effect". Designed by Jane Wike. Jane used Chocolate Chip, Old olive and Ivory Confetti card stocks, and stamped the swirling image from the set very faintly on the background of the ivory for this effect. It's stunning!

You are my sunshine – Sweet Treat Cups
May 15, 2010 by
Isn't this just the cutest card? I LOVE it! Cheryl Flynn gave me this card on the cruise last week. She made it with the Sweet Treat cups (116802), the Bumble Bee inside is a Lindt chocolate (yummy). It's killing me not to eat him, but he's toooo stinkin' cute! Ranking high on the stinkin' cute-o-mter, this uses the Something Sweet stamp set.
Elements of Style 3-D Scallop Circle Flower
May 13, 2010 by
This gorgeous card uses the new Elements of Style stamp set in the Stampin Up Summer Mini Catalog (#118611 wood, #120045 Clear Mount). The 3D flower was created with the Scallop Circle punch (click here to see a video tutorial >) It's a real WOW! The hummingbird is cut out and raised on a Stampin Dimensional for added height and pop.

IMPORTANT: News about Retiring Colors
May 11, 2010 by
IMPORTANT NEWS ABOUT RETIRING COLORS:
If you are planning on stocking up on card stock, ink pads and refills for the Retiring Stampin' Up Colors, you may want to consider doing this as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. Read the important message below, and click here to order online >.
IMPORTANT DATES:
June 1 - Retiring colors become "while supplies last"
June 30 - Last day to order any retiring product
With Stampin' Up!'s recent Color Renovation announcement, we have experienced a spike--much greater than anticipated--in demand for some of our retiring colors. Even with the most careful planning and all of the company's forecasts from previous color transitions and current buying behaviors, the demand was greatly underestimated.

Team Stamp It member, Dawn Gutro. The video demonstrates how to make this over the top "stinkin' cute" card. This card tops the charts on my new "Stinkin' Cute-o-meter"!
Introducing my new "Stinkin' Cute-o-meter"! Some cards are gorgeous, elegant, man-ly and some are just plain stinkin' cute.
It's a BTU-tiful thing! This stamp set is soooo funny!! Check out the burnt edges of this card, and the new King of the Grill stamp set is just hilarious. Perfect for Father's Day and more. This card was designed by my friend and VIDEO TUTORIAL: Born to Be Wild Motorcycle
May 7, 2010 by
Born to be wiiiiild!!! Wahooo!! I'm so excited to have a motorcycle stamp (in the new Summer Mini catalog), both my husband and I are bikers. He is the hottie on the Harley, my bike is what I like to call the "Honda Davidson" hehehe. My friend Lisa Freeman and her friend Lorrie created this gorgeous motorcycle card in blue, and I just about flipped! Of course I had to do it in red to match my bike. Check out the video below.
Cruise Portrait fun with MDS
May 6, 2010 by
My Digital Studio) out of my Stampin Up Southern Caribbean cruise photos from last week. I hope to work on that this weekend. In the meantime, I made a photo collage in Picasa and imported that into the My Digital Studio program to create this portrait of our memories from the trip. This will be printed as an 8x10 photo and I'll frame it.
I have a complete photo gallery of the entire trip here. Seeing these photos reminds me of all of the fun we had, and memories we'll cherish for a lifetime! Thank you Stampin' Up!!!
I'm so excited! I can't wait to make a photo book in MDS (VIDEO TUTORIAL: Shabby Ribbon Flower

Pictures from the Stampin Up Caribbean Cruise
May 4, 2010 by
Thank you Stampin Up!!!! We just returned from a 7 day, all expenses paid cruise from Stampin Up and WOW!!! What a trip!
We sailed on Royal Caribbean from Puerto Rico to Barbados, Antigua, St. Lucia, St. Marten and St. Croix. Spending lots of time on the beach (including one that was clothing optional...oooops!) and we visited a volcano in St. Croix. We enjoyed the trip with good friends, and the family, this year we brought the boys for the very first time. It was the time of our lives!
