Presents to share
Posted on January 30th, 2010, 7 responses.
Don’t you just love getting presents? Especially when they are a surprise! I was really excited to open my mail and receive this gem from my friend and downline Liz Miller. We attended SU Leadership and Regionals in Phoenix several weeks ago, and this paper rosette flower was one of the techniques we learned (click here to view video tutorial). Look at how beautiful this is! I love how she used the Sweet Pea Stitched Felt flowers (117266) as the center and leaves
This beautiful basket is a gift from my mom, Sharon MacKinnon. She is a new demonstrator in my group. She made this for a class she is doing, and was kind enough to give me one. She used the new 2 step bird punch (117191), and the Stampin Up Baskets & Blooms Bigz XL die (113484) for the Big Shot.
A couple of reminders since tomorrow is the last day of the month:
·
· · If you have been considering joining Stampin Up, and have questions. Please contact me. There’s a great demo special: 15% OFF plus a FREE stamp set! And if you sign up on to be a demo on or before Sunday, you’ll also be a part of something very special (fingers crossed) I’m trying really hard to bring the CEO of Stampin Up to Massachusetts!! If I win, you do too!! You could meet Shelli Gardner! Here’s more on the story >
· Today is the last day to order Sweet Pea Bird Set & The Write Stuff Kits >

Cyber Wedding Expo: Favors - Part 5
Posted on January 29th, 2010, 2 responses.
Just think how beautiful these little fancy “sculptured glass” bags will be for wedding favors (either on the wedding tables, or at the bridal shower). It’s made with Stampin Up Window Sheets (this bag uses the thick sheets 114324). The bag design is the Big Shot cut Bag with Scallops Bigz XL Die (114519), and texture is created with the Finial Press Impressions folder (115963). Whisper White Organza ribbon (114319) is heated with the embossing heat gun to give it a little crinkle. Filled with Hershey Nuggets candy (you can even decorate the nuggets, click here for a video). This bag was created by Laura Weed.
I did a video tutorial over the holidays on how to create this “sculptured glass” technique (click here to view). The original uses the Stampin Up Fancy Favor Bigz XL die (115965). After watching the video, Laura created this gorgeous sample and was sweet enough to give me one. I love it! I love seeing (and hearing) your creativity when you’ve been inspired by the site, you all are the best!

Cyber Wedding Expo: Invitations Part 4
Posted on January 29th, 2010, 4 responses.
This is a gorgeous, elegant and shimmery wedding invitation. It is a subtle, very vanilla on very vanilla layer. Uses the Wedding Sweet stamp set (115466) and is stamped in Shimmer White Shimmer paint. The inside is embossed with the Perfect Details texture plate (115962) for the big shot, and it matches the stamps on the front perfectly. There is a folder that has the HOTEL, RSVP, CEREMONY and RECEPTION detail cards stacked in it for a perfect presentation.
This invitation was designed by Peggy Murwin.

VIDEO TUTORIAL: Glassine Treat Bags
Posted on January 28th, 2010, 3 responses.
Love is in the air, and so is the smell of cookies! Join me for today’s video, and learn how to make this stinkin’ cute Valentine’s day treat bag perfect for the kids at school, co-workers and friends. this project uses the new Glassine bags from the Occasions mini catalog. I had to watch it twice, because I thought I’d completely the whole video without saying “stinkin’ cute“, but thankfully the second time around I caught two of them (wshew). I know you’re probably thinking “only 2 she must be slipping“. I will add a few extra “stinkin’ cutes” to the next video to make up for it. Missy Malone told me her daughter calls me the “stinkin’ cute lady” when she watches the videos…don’t want to disappoint the fans hehehehe! Thanks for watching!

Online Ordering Clubs are here!
Posted on January 27th, 2010, no responses.
Brand new! Starting in Feb, I’ve just added a new service called the Online Ordering Club!
Similar to my original hostess clubs, which currently are over 150 club members strong & growing (I love guys!!!) both get access to my members only club website. The website is filled with bonus projects and ideas, 3 exclusive project videos and instructions each month. Both get discounts on my papercrafting kits.
So what makes the Online ordering club special? One difference is, the online ordering club is solely for online orders. You’ll be able to take advantage of special items only available in my online store such as Clearance Rack items & My Digital Studio downloads & printing. One more big difference is that if you place a big order any month (over $150) you’ll get hostess benefits (in the hostess club only the hostess of the month gets hostess benefits). Click here to see the benefits of both clubs, and a chart to help you decide which is best for you >

Join Stampin Up today and be a part of something special
Posted on January 26th, 2010, one response.
What does it mean to “join Stampin’ Up”? I think this answer may be a little different for each of us. For me it started out as one thing, and has changed over the past 6 years. Originally, for me, becoming a demonstrator had nothing to do with demonstrating. It meant a discount on my favorite hobby. Soon my excitement caught on to some friends, who wanted to learn more, and before you know it I was learning how much I loved teaching people how to stamp. I loved watching them bloom and grow, and I still do.
My friend Tamye Dunbar inspired me when she said, she learned she could spend hours cleaning her house OR she could stamp for a couple of hours with friends, then use some of that money to pay a cleaning person. Woah! My first goal was set, and before long I had a cleaning lady, and a free cruise, and different goals that I could’ve never imagined. Friends I would’ve never met. Places I may have never gone. My family’s lives have all been enriched by that one decision to join Stampin’ Up.
To the right, is a photo taken at this past year’s annual convention in Salt Lake City, UT. It’s of my downline Liz Miller, myself, Shelli Gardner (CEO and co founder of Stampin Up) and my mom. My mom is now herself discovering her wings as a demonstrator, and it’s been an awesome journey to watch.
This opportunity is available to everyone, whether you are looking for a discount on stamps, or looking to earn some extra money, or maybe you’re goal is both.
I have spoken with many of you who are interested in joining Stampin’ Up, and I’d like to encourage you to consider joining this week if the time is right for you and here’s why:
THE CHALLENGE: As demonstrators we’ve been challenged with the chance to earn a “Workshop of a Lifetime” where Shelli Gardner (pictured above) will attend and demonstrate! This will be awarded to top recruiters and the contest runs Jan 10 - 31. If you join Stampin’ Up with me during this time, you’d be a part of this incredible opportunity.
You would also be able to take advantage of these great deals:
15% Off the demo kit PLUS a free stamp set…be a part of the new Stampin’ Connection.

VIDEO TUTORIAL: Corner & Edge Punch tips
Posted on January 25th, 2010, 2 responses.
Join me for today’s video, I’ll share some tips on creating random sizes with the new Stampin’ Up edge and corner punches.
Using the punches seperately makes a pretty accent to your project. When using them together, they make a stunning border that really draws attention. However, when you use the 2 together, you’ll want to use a standard size (chart below). Sometimes the standard size doesn’t fit the project you are creating, and that’s where these tips will come in handy.
Special thanks to Gretchen Barron for both this darling card design, and for her help with custom punch sizes.

I {Heart} Hearts Valentine - help Haiti
Posted on January 22nd, 2010, 3 responses.
This card was sent to me from my friend and downline Billie Dir. Isn’t it gorgeous?
I was going to blog this in February, but since Stampin Up announced the Haitian Disaster Relief program yesterday, I decided to share this now instead of waiting. Stampin Up is donating a portion of sales from each “I {Heart} Hearts stamp set” (117010) to aide the Haitians. This card is not only a perfect way to say I love you, sales from the set uses are making a difference.
The card uses Pretty in Pink & Chocolate Chip card stock. Billie used Chocolate Chip craft ink and embossed it with clear emboss powder. She used the full heart (113693)and heart-to-heart punches (113694) and the polka dot impressions folder-117335 (click here for video on heart-to-heart punch and polka dot impressions folder >) . Sending Love Specialty paper (117153) & Scallop trim border punch (SAB 118402).
Stampin Up Haitian Disaster Relief
Posted on January 21st, 2010, one response.
Help make a difference in the lives of those who continue to suffer from the effects of the devastating earthquake that struck Haiti on January 12. From now until February 28, 2010, Stampin Up! will set aside $2 from the sale of every I {Heart} Hearts stamp set (117010) and donate it to the American Red Cross’ Haiti Relief and Development Fund.
The Red Cross is already well-established in Haiti, and this money will be used to provide immediate relief and long-term suport through supplies, technical assistance and other support to help those in need.
Help make a difference in the lives of the Haitian people. Click here to order your set today >
In addition to donating a portion of sales, Stampin Up bought supplies for 5,000 hygiene kits to be sent. Click for more info on this from Shelli Gardner (CEO of Stampin Up) >
Just another of the thousands of reasons why I love this company so much!
Cyber Wedding Expo - Invitations Part 1
Posted on January 21st, 2010, 3 responses.
I’ve had a lot of requests for wedding invitation ideas for brides-to-be, so I’m starting a blog series of wedding ideas (samples and favors) that I’ll call The Cyber Wedding Expo.
This first sample is a wedding invitation, it shows a textured frame background on shimmer white card stock. This background technique is created using the scallop oval big shot die, on board chipboard and the finail press impressions folder.
Click here to view a video tutorial on how to create this texture background >
The colors shown are blush blossom, shimmer white and basic black, and can be easily adapted to a bride’s color scheme. There is a belly band around the front with the monogram from the Lovely Letters Alphabet (115030), and Together Forever (115100) stamp sets. The ribbon is White Organza (114319) and black grosgrain (109027). The inside of the card is stamped with the Baroque Motiffs (113490) stamp set in matching blush blossom ink.
Wedding info, and RSVP card text printed on the computer on shimmer white paper, and layered on matching blush blossom and basic black card stock. Then stamped to match the inside of the card. This card was designed by Kim Peck.
