Taste of Soho chipboard name plate

Posted on January 31st, 2009, no responses.

Big shot name plate with Soho Hardware

This is a chipboard nameplate made with the Big Shot. I used the Top Notes die for the main shape, Serif Essentials and Billboard alphabet dies for the name. The paper is SU’s new Taste of Textiles: Coasted White pinstripe, printed kraft and bronze metallic. My absolute favorite part is the Soho Designer hardware focal piece. I also used Baja Breeze satin ribbon fromt the Valet ribbon originals pack.

You can click on the photos below for step by step photo tutorial of how to create this name plate. Read the rest of this entry…

Starring the Rustic Rooster

Rustic Rooster

Rustic Rooster

One of the very first stamp sets I got a sneak peek at from the 2009 Spring / Summer Catalog was the Rustic Rooster Hostess Stamp Set. For me, it was love at first sight and I knew I had to have that set.

At my January stamp club class, my customers got their first peek at the new catalog, and the oooohhs and aaaaaahhhs are always so much fun!! My friend Jackie C. looked at the Rustic Rooster and was “challenged” by it. She did share my “love at first sight” vision of the set the first time she saw it.

As soon as I grabbed this little guy out of the box (still hot from the UPS truck), I got started stamping. Mostly because I couldn’t wait to play with it, and also because I wanted to stamp an idea for Jackie. The more I played with this, the more I feel in love with it. Read the rest of this entry…

I just loved this set, it was so different and fun! It reminds me of my mother in law and how much she loves to go to the casino, and my neighbors who love to play cards. I couldn’t wait to start playing with ideas.

These samples are all made with the Stampin’ Up! Card Games stamp set and the Jackpot designer series paper.

It’s a one piece box, It’s perfect, quick and easy for little thank yous, shower gifts (both baby and wedding), party favors, etc. These are one peice boxes that just pop together after cutting with just the tiniest bit of sticky strip.

Tell them you care, put some Pepsi in your card

Posted on January 26th, 2009, one response.

At the Stampin’ Up Regionals in Orlando earlier this month, Jaron Winder showed us a bracelet made from the Big Shot and Diet Coke cans and I just about went wild I was so excited about it. It’s true, the Big Shot can cut through many materials, including aluminum!!

My friend Karen’s husband Andrew works for Pepsico, and he is working hard to turn my ”bad” Diet Coke habit into a Diet Pepsi habit.

So in honor of Andrew, I made this “Pepsi Card”, the focal point is cut from a Pepsi can. The overall card instructions can be found here > . For the inside I used the Oval Sizzix die in the Big shot. I cut the can so it laid flat on the die just like paper to cut. I used Brilliant blue card stock for the base and Whisper white for the front and inside panels. Read the rest of this entry…

Big news from Leadership!!

Posted on January 14th, 2009, one response.

I just got back from Stampin’ Up’s annual Leadership event in Orlando, FL. Wow, is all I can say! We had such a great time! this first picture is at our Advisory Board Reunion breakfast, with Shelli Gardner and Amy Swartz. The second is of my friend Leasa Williams and I at the SU Manager’s Reception, we were (and probably always will be) Thing 1 & Thing 2 from Dr. Suess’ “The Cat in the Hat”.

We got to be the first to receive a copy of the new 2009 Spring / Summer Catalog and it is awesome. It will be officially released on Jan 19, until then I’m not allowed to give any ”sneak peeks”…you can purchase a copy here >.

Some big announcements were made here, one being a new Digital Scrapbooking line called “My Digital Studio” that will be released later in 2009! It looks amazing, can’t wait!! The Big Shot has some amazing new dies, including one that has a movable window that coordinates with our Curly Label punch…again wow!

The Manager’s Reception was held at Universal Studios - Islands of Adventure. Stampin’ Up rented out Marvel Island. It was amazing for me, I’m a complete roller coaster junkie and not having to wait in any lines was like a dream come true. I rode the Hulk coaster 9 times, only to have to hand my crown over to my friends Meg Loven, Jen Bailey and Rich Jutkins who rode 15 times!!
