Rustic Rooster

One of the very first stamp sets I got a sneak peek at from the 2009 Spring / Summer Catalog was the Rustic Rooster Hostess Stamp Set. For me, it was love at first sight and I knew I had to have that set.

At my January stamp club class, my customers got their first peek at the new catalog, and the oooohhs and aaaaaahhhs are always so much fun!! My friend Jackie C. looked at the Rustic Rooster and was “challenged” by it. She did share my “love at first sight” vision of the set the first time she saw it.

As soon as I grabbed this little guy out of the box (still hot from the UPS truck), I got started stamping. Mostly because I couldn’t wait to play with it, and also because I wanted to stamp an idea for Jackie. The more I played with this, the more I feel in love with it.

Card uses: SU Glossy card stock, brayered background with ink pad refills on a baby wipe (make your own spectrum pad). Rustic Rooster Hostess stamp in black staz on ink. Cut the oval and scallop edge using the Scalloped Oval Big Shot die. Crimped background panel, SU start brad accent.

Colors: Ruby Red, Yoyo Yellow, Not Quite Navy

OK Tami–you got me! I do really like that card! I truly could not see any potential for this little rooster and was wondering why it would be a hostess stamp set!! As always your cards are inspiring and I may end getting this guy when my turn comes around in the club!! LOL Thanks for the eye opener!
