photo-card-peace-love-joyContinuing on with Part 2 of my Holiday Photo cards designed with Stampin' Up!'s My Digital Studio (MDS). Today's cards are feature different snowflake designs, I love the monochromatic look, very elegant.

Holiday Photo Cards – Part 1

photo-card-seasons-greetingsPhotos in and on your holiday cards are such a great way to share your family. I save the pictures from the Christmas cards I receive from friends and family each year, and love looking back at old photos. Creating photo cards with My Digital Studio (MDS) is so fun, and dare I say even a little addicting. I decided to "digitally stamp" my Christmas Cards last year (click here to view > ). The great part is, they are totally customizable. You can make them postcards or full cards. With MDS you have the option to either print them out yourself on your home printer, or have them professionally printed through MDS. You can even customize the inside, write a note, etc. It was so cool to be able to put photos on both the outside AND inside of the card. I've started to create some MDS photo card designs, along with digital stamps and accessories I used to create them. Once I started designing these, I was having so much fun I just kept going, stay tuned for more:

VIDEO TUTORIAL: Shimmer Mist and Partial Emboss Folders

perfect-punchesJoin me for today's video and learn several cool techniques using Stampin' Up! Shimmer Paint, along with partial shapes from emboss folders. This is a perfect Christmas Holiday card, meets all of my criteria for "bulk stamping": quick, easy to duplicate and mass produce and is gorgeous!!

VIDEO TUTORIAL: Paper Pinwheel Technique

bird-punchOooohh and aaahhh over this super cool paper pinwheel technique, demonstrated in today's video tutorial. This was taught to me by my friend, April Lopez. To be honest, at first I was a little intimidated. It looked really complicated, but once she showed me I freaked out at how easy it was to do! The 2 Step Bird punch in white creates the look of a Christmas Dove on the front, and although this sample is shown in Christmas colors, you could easily make this for any occasion. I'll also show you a cool tip for using your new Scallop Ribbon Border punch.

Jolly Old Saint Nick Cards

jolly-old-st-nick-joanne-weimersThe Jolly Old Saint Nick stamp set (121711 wood, 121321 clear mount) is a darling new holiday set found in the new 2010 Holiday Mini Catalog. I think it is sooo stinkin' cute, I love this Santa "winking". Here are 2 great cards created from the set, the card to the right was designed by Joann Wiemers. She watercolored the image for a soft look (click here for a video on watercoloring > ). The card below was created by Susie Wood, Susie used the Stampin' Write markers for her Santa image. Both coloring mediums look fabulous on the set.

VIDEO TUTORIAL: French Foliage Masking Technique

french-foliage-wendy-burke-2Here in New England, the leaves are changing and falling and simply gorgeous! My favorite time of year. The stamp set reflects my mood perfectly with it's beautiful realistic leaf images. It's called "French" Foliage I'm sure because of it's pretty french script words that compliment it so well...I'm going to dub it "New England Foliage" with french words hehehe. Today's video technique will be sharing a great accordian card fold, and masking technique that gives the illusion of multiple layers. Join in with me as I used clear mount and wood mount stamps together, in harmony (yes, it can be done). Laugh along with, or at me, as I struggle to remember new product names and more!

From the Crypt – Halloween Gift Set Tutorial

ciaf-newsletter I LOVE this From the Crypt Stamp Set! I designed this gift set originally for a spotlight eatured in Debbie McNeill's demonstrator newsletter. My kids went crazy over it, so we made some with their friends. I love seeing their cool creations, they inspire me. These treat bags make great party favors, and goody bags. I used the Fancy Favor Die (115965) for the Big Shot, Wicked Fun Specialty Paper (117400) and the from the Crypt Stamp Set (115460). And of course, can't forget my favorites Spider Web Impressions Folder (120889) and Bitty Bat Punch (119279). So easy, a 9 year old can do it;)

VIDEO TUTORIAL: Dark & Dreary Halloween Card

darkanddreary-deb-valder-1Mwahahahaha...{insert evil laugh here} as we get our Halloween groove on in this fun packed video tutorial. This super cool card and accordian fan fold technique was created by my friend Deb Valder. I just can't get enough of the Spider Web impressions folder, maybe I'll use it for Christmas deocrations this year? Kidding! Or am I?

Birthday Surprise!

40th-bday-001I knew the big day was coming, I tried hiding from it but it came anyway...yep...the big 4-0! And to celebrate, my husband and I went for a motorcycle ride. Only seemed right to take out the Harley he bought me for my birthday 2 months early! Upon returning home from our ride, I was surprised by 120 of our closest friends and family in our driveway!! SURPRISE!!! WOW! And I certainly was surprised. Steve had even hired a dj and catered dinner from my favorite bbq place! It was an incredible day, and I'm happy to report 40 never felt so good! WAHOO! Bring it on. I made a collage of fun pictures from the party using My Digital Studio to embellish and really make it special.

Founders Circle – Susan’s Stamp House

susans-stamp-house2One more reason I love going to St. George, UT is visiting my friend Susan Adams and her incredible Stamp House! It's the bomb!! We always have so much fun, Susan is one of my favorite people. I really enjoy visiting. We had a "shoebox swap" one night, where we all brought a project for everyone else to make. Had the most incredible salad from Cafe Rio (we don't have these neae me but I think we need one!!) and lots of laughs.

VIDEO TUTORIAL: Bats in the Attic Card – Founders Swap

bats-in-the-atticStampin' Up invites the Top 100 Demonstrators in the company on a retreat the 3rd week in September, it is one of the highest honors in the company. I have been humbled to be a part of this event for the past 5 years! One of my favorite parts of the trip is a card front swap. These are the most fantastic swaps, and I can't wait to participate each year. Of course this means I have to make 100+ of 1 card, but it's soooo worth it. This card is the design I chose for this year's swap. I'm calling it "Bats in the Attic".

Stampin’ Up Founders Circle Retreat – Swapping

jammienightOne of my favorite parts of any Stampin' Up! events is swapping stamping ideas, and the Founders Circle event last week was the "motherload" of all swapping. More than 100 of us swapped in a line that was so organized and fun, and the ideas were just incredible! I can't wait to share some of them with you.bats-in-the-attic

My swap card was a Halloween idea, I called it "Bats in the Attic". Those of you familiar with the Aerosmith song "Toys in the Attic" can thank me later for getting this stuck in your head, but as I was making 100+ of these babies I was singing "Bats, Bats, Bats...bats in the attic..". Stay tuned this afternoon and I will post a quick video to show you how to create this awesome effect.
