CARD: Tool Shed Masculine Vellum Impressions

tool shed-vellum-stampwithtamiToday's card was meant to be a video tutorial, and I'm embarrassed to tell you how long it's been sitting in my "Que" of projects to tape. I'm so sorry! Now that the Tool Shed stamp is retiring next week (June 3 is the last day to get this) I ran out of time! I will do another "vellum impressions" video in the future, but I wanted to share this Father's Day card idea while you can still get the stamps. It's a great masculine birthday as well.

Vellum Impressions Technique:

  • Stamp the Tool Shed stamp on the front of vellum card stock using Staz On Jet black
  • Flip over and use the Stylus to press on the back of the vellum behind each image
  • Pressing on the back creates a "raised" and "frosted" look on the front so your vellum is textured. It's important to use the Vellum Card Stock to prevent tearing. A lighter weight vellum will tear.

The card stock layers are:

  • Basic Black Base: 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" (folded in half)
  • Chocolate chip: 4" x 5-1/4"
  • Crumb cake (this layers under vellum, it only shows thru vellum): 5" x 3-3/4"
  • Vellum Card Stock: 5" x 3-3/4"

CARD: Tea Shoppe Tea Bag

tea shoppe-stampwithtamiThis is such a cool card, and one of my favorite ideas from the retiring Tea Shoppe stamp set. I love the tea bag card! Here the mug was stamped and then embossed with Iridescent Ice embossing powder (creating the glitter effect), then cut out. The tea bag pulls out. It's very sweet. This was a swap from my recent Stampin' Up trip to Fiji. I'll be very sad to see this set go next week:(

CARD: Blooming with Kindness

blooming with kindness-stampwithtamiBlooming with Kindness is a fabulous, and often overlooked stamp set...at least in my collection. The flower is gorgeous, and versatile. And the words in the set fit so many occasions. Here is a gorgeous, and easy card using the "emboss resist" technique. The flower is heat embossed with white, then a sponge dauber in the Wisteria Wonder for the background. A great birthday card, that could easily be made into a thank you, sympathy, support, or appreciation card simply by swapping the words with another in the same set.

CARD: Dinoroar – Dinosaur fun

dinoroar-stampwithtami (1)A little Dinosaur fun with the retiring (sadly) Dinoroar stamp set! sooo stinkin' cute! This card was one of the swaps from my recent Fiji trip. The pre-historic T-Rex was colored with Stampin' Write markers. The Pterodactyl was stamped on Sahara Sand and cut out.

REMINDER THIS STAMP SET IS ONLY AVAILABLE UNTIL JUNE 3, 2013.

UPDATE: My Stampin’ Up Trip of a Lifetime Fiji & New Zealand

2013-05 dream trip of a lifetime

Once in a lifetime, you have an opportunity to something beyond your wildest dreams...the past 2 weeks...I lived that dream! It all started back in 2011, at the Stampin' Up Annual Convention, when the 2013 Grand Vacation Incentive trip was announced...an all expenses paid trip for 2 to FIJI!!! SERIOUSLY?!?! Did they just say FIJI!?!

Earning that dream trip was so exciting, and emotional. I am so grateful to all of you, my customers and demonstrator group sisters, who have been my rock, and my support and helped make this dream come true. This dream trip could not have happened without your support, I'm proud and humbled to be your Stampin' Up Demonstrator. And to be a part of this amazing company, that has done so much for me and my kids. Vin-aka (thank you) from the very bottom of my heart!!

This 2 week trip, was one amazing day to the next. White Water Rafting down the Upper Navua river. Eating, dancing and being welcomed into a local village of Fijians . Rainbows, Glow worms, Thermal Hot Springs, Zip lining and a helicopter landing on a Glacier in New Zealand...just to name a few things we did. "We" = me and my friend Shaun along with some stamping friends. Did you catch my +1 on this trip was a man? It's true, in the past I've brought a girlfriend, last year my parents and kids got to go to Disney...but this year, I brought a date! We've been dating for about a year now, thanks to our kids who brought us together and pretty much set us up. We are both divorced and in the same place in life, and became good friends having much in common. Our kids are friends with each other (hence why setting us up benefited them lol) and we all enjoy doing things together. I call it "family dating".

Below are some photo collages, each collage from a different event. If you'd like to learn more, click on each collage for more info and a photo album (Facebook) with descriptions of each photo.

CARD: Happy Mother’s Day – I’m back and jet lagged

mothers day swap-stampwithtamiHappy Mother's Day! I've finally returned from my loooong journey home, completing the "dream trip" of my lifetime. There were 3 main legs of this trip: Fiji (all expenses paid from from Stampin Up - THANK YOU!!!!) then on to Rotorua, New Zealand and finally Queenstown, New Zealand. In all we counted 8 plane trips, and the most amazing experiences I've ever had in my entire life!!

I've been posting pictures to facebook of each adventure. I'll post a recap of the trip, photos, journeys, as well as winners of the Mystery Hostess Drawing shortly.

In the meantime, after 30 hours of traveling home...I'm soooo jet lagged all I want for Mother's day is sleep lol.

Back soon!

NOTE: The 2011-13 In Colors are on "retiring" however with the new color family changes (click here for details) it turns out we only have to say goodbye to Lucky Limeade. Everyone else is coming back to stay...yeah! Some of the accessories in these colors are going for good, while supplies last.

CARD: Just Believe Card

just believe - sherill graff-mary brownThis is a very classic and elegant note card featuring the Just Believe stamp set. I received this beauty from Sherrill Graff.

CARD: Button Buddies Cherries

button buddies-lorri heilingThese super cute "3-D" Cherries are created from the 3/4" Circle punch (scored in 1/2). the black and real red combo is striking, and together the card really "pops". Designed by Lori Heiling.

CARD: Forever Young Tree

forever young-patty chenailThis beautiful card was created with the Forever Young stamp set. The name of this set just makes me want to break out in the Rod Stewart song by the same name. The silhouette image of the tree with the little girl swinging from a branch has always appealed to me. It just makes me smile. In my mind I see her swinging while the songs plays on.

On this card, the image is embossed with black embossing powder to really make it stand out. Then a light spritzing with the Color Spritzer and black marker for the "splattered" background on the main layer. Designed by Patty Chenail.

CARD: Serene Silhouettes Spritzed

serene silhouettes-krista frattinHappy Cinco de Mayo! Today's card offers some fun with the Color Spritzer Tool #107066. This is what gives the "splatter" effect which is so cool, and it offers a "vintage" look on this card. It's very hard to see in the pictures, but this card is also spritzed with the White Shimmer mist and rubbing Alcohol mix that makes it shimmer, it's subtle and very pretty. Designed by Krista Frattin.

CARD: Postage Due Card

postage due-connie stewartIsn't this card gorgeous? The soft colors are a beautiful combination. Created with the Postage Due stamp set. Designed by Connie Stewart. It's Friday here in the states, but it actually Saturday already in Fiji. We are leaving today and heading over to New Zealand. for a week! So exciting. Hello to all of you Kiwis out there, I'm coming over to play!!

CARD: Make a Wish Party Invitation

spring-secret gardenThis party invitation card uses the Dress Form base for it's shape, I LOVE it! This was a "special" invitation I received earlier this year for a Stampin' Up! Advisory Board Alumni luncheon. I love that they used the "Make a Wish" stamp set in this card, it reminds me of several wishes that have come true....1 of these was serving on the 2007 Advisory Board for the company!

Another wish, or dream come true, was going to Fiji with Stampin' Up! Today is my last day in Fiji, I'll be heading on to New Zealand tomorrow. I will be posting updates as I can on my Facebook Page.

CARD: By the Sea Card

spring-by the tide-noneContinuing on a beach theme, this card comes from the By the Sea stamp set. The background incorporates some sponging and then is sprayed with shimmer mist to make it sparkle. This shimmer mist doesn't come out well in the photo. You can see a video tutorial on how to make Shimmer Mist using our Champagne Shimmer paint here >.

The shells and starfish are embossed with Espresso emboss powder.

CARD: By The Tide – Triple Time Technique

spring-by the tide-becky morrisFun "triple time" technique using the By the Tide stamp set. Designed by Becky Morris. This technique is surprisingly easy to do. There are 3 layers of vanilla, and 3 layers of Baja Breeze, here are the measurements:

Vanilla: 5-1/4 x 4", 4-1/4" x 3" & 3-1/4" x 2"
Baja Breeze: 4-1/2" x 3-1/4" & 3-1/2" x 2-1/4"
Cajun Craze card base: 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" (fold in half)

Triple Time Stamp Technique: Simple layer all of the vanilla on top of each other without the baja breeze panel, randomly stamp your images over all 3 at once. TIP: Be sure to stamp off the edge. Then assemble all of your pieces. It's that simple!
