PROJECT
This stinkin’ cute Herbie the Love Bug card and video tutorial is my project for the blog hop. As soon as I saw this Volkswagen beetle car stamp in the Occasions Catalog (Stampin Up Beautiful Ride stamp set), I instantly thought of Herbie the Love bug.
Herbie was a Disney classic a 1963 VW beetle with a mind off his own. There is a Volkswagon repair shop near me that actually has a “real life” Herbie car, I love it.
In my video below, I’ll show you how I made this card. It’s easier than you think, some fun techniques include: sponging, masking and a cool “hack” for getting the #53 from the Day by Day Calendar stamp.

I Really need to get this stamp one way or the other. When I was first married ‘just’ a little over 50 years ago my husband and I bought a dark green bug. I loved that car and wish we had had the good sense to keep it.

Remember the series of movies, Herbie the love bug and going to the drive in, in the family station wagon or the game punch bug as a family riding in the car if you saw a VW you would yell the color of the VW and punch the arm of the person sitting next to you with 10 of us except the driver it was fun to see who could spot the VW and yell it first .
