Gatefold Pop Out Card Tutorial – A Sassy Birthday Surprise!
I’m back with another fun fold in my Gatefold Pop Out series, and this one is full of personality! If you love creating handmade birthday cards with a bit of humor, you’re going to adore this design. Featuring the Stampin’ Up! One More Year stamp set, this card is all about celebrating in style—sassy style!
A Card with Attitude
The star of this card is the adorable dog in his party hat. He’s winking and sticking his tongue out like he knows he’s the life of the party! Paired with the hilarious sentiment “Happy Birthday, now back to me,” this card is guaranteed to bring a smile (and maybe even a laugh) to whoever receives it.
I wanted to give this design an elegant touch while keeping the fun, so I used the Wildflower Specialty Designer Series Paper for the gold foil striped background. To enhance the luxe look, I added Gold Foil mats, which really pull everything together beautifully.
Adding Texture & Dimension
To make the white pop-out layers stand out, I embossed them with the Dotted Circles 3D Embossing Folder. This simple detail adds so much depth! In the step-by-step tutorial, I share how to align the circles perfectly, so your design looks seamless.
How Do I Mail This Card?
Even though this card has a unique pop-out design, it folds flat and fits inside a standard medium-sized envelope. If you add lots of layers or embellishments, you may need extra postage when mailing it. But trust me, the wow factor makes it totally worth it!
