CARD: Amazing Sunflower WOW Card

sunflower-gail loweThis may just be one of the most amazing cards I’ve ever seen! I received this card 2 years ago from Gail Lowe, I hadn’t met Gail yet. We were both on the Stampin’ Up Disney trip that year. I was so awed by her card that I sought her out and finally found and met her on the last night during our Farewell dinner lol.

She told me how she created the card, and I planned on making a video out of her cool and genius technique and then I lost the paper with Gail’s instructions!!! So for 2 years this beautiful card has sat in my “Video Que” of projects waiting for me to film, but not going anywhere because I can’t remember how she made it.

Sunflower is one of my favorite stamps, and now that the it’s retiring, I can’t hide this beauty anymore. I have to share it. I apologize for not have instructions, but I’m guessing we can improvise and make similarly gorgeous creations with this stamp (but hurry it’s almost gone forever).

UPDATE:
As luck would have it, Gail read my blog post and commented below with the instructions! Didn’t I tell you she was awesome? Here’s what she says:
“The technique is really very easy just takes time. Use your distressing tool and save all the card stock shavings, attach to a card stock circle with crystal effects spray with shimmer when dry.I also used dazzling details around the center after sponging the different colors on the sunflower.”

    Hi Tami,
Thanks so much for sharing my Disney swap wow for me this is a honour. Let me say meeting you was one of the most exciting unbelievable moment for me of the Disney trip. I’m so hoping to see you on the cruise and say hello.

    • I love you Gail!!!! Thank you soooo much for reading my post, and leaving the instructions. I can’t believe I lost them:( You are amazing, can’t wait to see you on the cruise. Tami

  2. The sunflower is beautiful. As I said before it is so nice that you show cards that you have received, and these ladies should feel honored, I know I would.

  3. Have to say it is a beautiful card. I am a newbie to the paper crafting world because I have no clue what her instructions mean 🙁 Maybe that video would still be great 🙂

    • Gail actually “shaved” card stock lol, making tiny shavings, then gluing them on the center. maybe in the future I can make a new card with one of our new sets and try to re-create the effect.

  4. I am looking to buy the SU sunflower stamp that just retired. If anyone has it that wants to sell please contact me
