I love the way this card turned out. The washed in background of the beach and the bird silhouettes are eye catching. I thought they were sea gulls, my mom thought they were Terns (I think that was the name)…what do you think?
I used the color wash technique to create the background. The key to achieving this effect is the paper used. I used Stampin’ Up’s watercolor paper, it does make a difference. I also love the convenience of our aqua painters (brushes), you don’t need any extra supplies…such as a cup of water.

I agree with Donna B….they are sandpipers! They hang out at the edge of the water looking for food, running back and forth as the waves roll in and out. Nice card, Tami!

Yes, the sandpipers make a great stamp to use. The sample above looks like you did a circle color wash around a spot in the sky to look like a cloud. Love it!
Sandpipers, definitely. They run like crazy along the beach here. Terns are a breed of sea gull but their heads are completely black.

Tami, I love how fabulously easy this is, or at least you made it look that way. The end result is WOW, makes me feel like I’m an artist. Being the super organised person that I am (NOT!) I now know what the girls will be making at stamp club in three days’ time 🙂 so thank you for sharing this and I am grateful too that CASEing is encouraged in the crafting community.
