Daisies, Daisies…WOW!

Posted on October 26th, 2011, no responses.

founders-swap3These are 2 gorgeous projects using the Daisies Flower #2 Bigz Die (#114520) for the Big Shot! They are real WOWs. The card was created by Deb Valder, it also uses the Field Flowers stamp set (122760 wood, 122762 clear mount). She embossed the stem in Wild Wasabi emboss powder #123224.

founders-swap4This second gift/treat was created using Stampin’ Up!’s new 1″x8″ Cellophane Bags #124134 in the Holiday Mini catalog. And the coolest part is, the flower has a pin back on it, so once the candy is eaten you can wear it as a pin! What a fabulous gift idea!! This was created by Connie Fitzgerald.

Days of Gratitude Card

Posted on October 16th, 2011, no responses.

linda-cullen-5This card is just so yummy, I LOVE the colors. Designed by Linda Cullen. Linda used the Day of Gratitude stamp set (120835 wood mount, 121148 clear mount) and stamped the large flower image in Baja Blue classic ink. Then used sponge daubers and soft suede around the inside and the edges. It’s a real WOW!

Other accessories include: Antique Brads 117273, Decorative Label punch 120907 and the Vintage Wallpaper impressions folder 120175.

leslii-stevensThis is a super neat “outside the box” idea, designed by my downline Leslii Stevens. She used the Ornament Punch 119847 (of all things) to create this Christmas Tree. Then the Boho Blossoms punch 119858 for the “star” on top. Newsprint designer paper 121878 and the Many Merry Messages stamp set 116586.

Christmas Lodge Card Part 3

Posted on October 9th, 2011, one response.

christmas-lodge-selenes-meeting-1

While we were preparing for the “Stamp Out Breast Cancer” Fundraiser last weekend, the team had a fun “stamp” night at my friend Selene’s house stamping the projects. She had some fantastic cards from a swap they had done recently with her group. This card was created by Anne-Marie Call.

The sample uses the Christmas Lodge stamp set (123767 wood, 123769 clear mount), and Pines & Poinsettias (123762 wood, 123764 clear mount), Cherry Cobble paper and quilted ribbon and the Simply Scored was used to create the half rosette.

Cindy’s amazing Halloween Quilt

Posted on October 5th, 2011, no responses.

cindy-halloween-quiltWhen we were at the Founders Circle retreat last month, my friend Cindy Peterson made this quilt one night! Seriously, in one night (no she didn’t sleep at all lol). With the help of our friend, Susan Adams, they created this stinkin’ awesome Halloween quilt. Susan had created that super cute Witches Boot treat holder from the video I posted last week. They used the same idea with the Holiday Stocking  Die & 3-1/2 Inch Circle dies to create the Witches boot on the quilt.  Those two may have been animals making this quilt in one night, but it really shows how awesome the Big Shot and it’s dies are for quilting!

VIDEO TUTORIAL: Watercoloring & Double Impression Folders

Posted on October 3rd, 2011, no responses.

always-thankfulToday’s video tutorial is a card I created for my stamp club, and I loved it so much it became my swap for Stampin’ Up! Founders Circle Retreat. Using the Always Thankful Stamp Set (123787 wood, 123789 clear mount) stamp set from the Holiday Mini Catalog.

I used several techniques, including water coloring with aqua painters & ink pads.  What I think is the coolest part, is something you don’t notice at first glance. The frame shape in the middle was created with the new Designer Frames Impression folder (123130), and it was embossed over the Square Lattice impressions folder (119976). I had some fun figuring out how to make this work, so one folder didn’t flatten out the other. Turns out I just had to fall back on the “partial impression embossing” technique that I presented at the SU Hartford, CT Regional Event (click here for video technique >). If you are a demonstrator, you will find this original presentation from the event on the 2011 Stampin’ Up! Workshop Wow DVD  (That was a surprise! I didn’t even know it was being taped.)
