Birthday Surprise!

40th-bday-001I knew the big day was coming, I tried hiding from it but it came anyway...yep...the big 4-0! And to celebrate, my husband and I went for a motorcycle ride. Only seemed right to take out the Harley he bought me for my birthday 2 months early! Upon returning home from our ride, I was surprised by 120 of our closest friends and family in our driveway!! SURPRISE!!! WOW! And I certainly was surprised. Steve had even hired a dj and catered dinner from my favorite bbq place! It was an incredible day, and I'm happy to report 40 never felt so good! WAHOO! Bring it on. I made a collage of fun pictures from the party using My Digital Studio to embellish and really make it special.

Founders Circle – Susan’s Stamp House

susans-stamp-house2One more reason I love going to St. George, UT is visiting my friend Susan Adams and her incredible Stamp House! It's the bomb!! We always have so much fun, Susan is one of my favorite people. I really enjoy visiting. We had a "shoebox swap" one night, where we all brought a project for everyone else to make. Had the most incredible salad from Cafe Rio (we don't have these neae me but I think we need one!!) and lots of laughs.

VIDEO TUTORIAL: Bats in the Attic Card – Founders Swap

bats-in-the-atticStampin' Up invites the Top 100 Demonstrators in the company on a retreat the 3rd week in September, it is one of the highest honors in the company. I have been humbled to be a part of this event for the past 5 years! One of my favorite parts of the trip is a card front swap. These are the most fantastic swaps, and I can't wait to participate each year. Of course this means I have to make 100+ of 1 card, but it's soooo worth it. This card is the design I chose for this year's swap. I'm calling it "Bats in the Attic".

Stampin’ Up Founders Circle Retreat – Swapping

jammienightOne of my favorite parts of any Stampin' Up! events is swapping stamping ideas, and the Founders Circle event last week was the "motherload" of all swapping. More than 100 of us swapped in a line that was so organized and fun, and the ideas were just incredible! I can't wait to share some of them with you.bats-in-the-attic

My swap card was a Halloween idea, I called it "Bats in the Attic". Those of you familiar with the Aerosmith song "Toys in the Attic" can thank me later for getting this stuck in your head, but as I was making 100+ of these babies I was singing "Bats, Bats, Bats...bats in the attic..". Stay tuned this afternoon and I will post a quick video to show you how to create this awesome effect.

paisley-prints-sharon-mackinnonPaisley Prints is a great new stamp set (120817 wood, 121121 clear mount) that was introduced in the Holiday Mini Catalog. I love the cool style of the paisley inside the images of the tree, heart, pumpkin and leaf. This first card was created by Sharon MacKinnon, she stamped in Cherry Cobler, Delightful Daffodil and Always Artichoke for this great fall card. Below is a gallery of Paisley Prints displays from Stampin' Up's convention this past July (demonstrators got this set free for attending!).

The silohette style and white outline just make this rocker jump off the card at you (no not literally) more like an ipod ad. Designed by Holly Crawford.

Spider Web fun for Halloween

fang-tastic-kathi-rotti My 2 newest staples in my Stampin' Up! collection are the new Bitty Bat Punch (119279) and the new Spider Web textured impressions folder (120889) for the Big Shot! I am in love with these. Today's post is a focus on the spider web, see it in action in my Spiderman Video > The first card shown here was designed by Kathie Rotti, she used Iridescent Ice emboss powder on the web and coupled it with the super stinkin' cute Fang-tastic stamp set (120853 wood, 121178 clear mount) in the Holiday Mini Catalog. The 2nd card was designed by Cheryl Campbell. Cheryl used the spider from the Dark & Dreary stamp set (120837 wood, 121151 clear mount).

VIDEO TUTORIAL: Batman Box & Card – 100th Video!

batman-box-style-1I'm very excited to be presenting my 100th YouTube Video Tutorial!! WAHOO!! This Batman Chocolate Matchbox treat holder was inspired by one of my favorite roller coasters...Batman The Dark Knight. Originally, I'd made the blue box and matching card. Was stamping with the kids and friends, and my friend Shayna designed the black box with the spotlight and we just about flipped out over it. That become the new winner of the 100th Video, and it tops the stinkin' cute-o-meter! A quick and easy project for the Batman fan in your life, using my favorite new punch the Bat Punch and the Matchbox die for the Big Shot. As you'll see, not only is the box fun, I had a blast making this video, from my son's Batman mood ring to some special effects (including my own Batman sound effects for the big shot hehehe).
