Posted on August 31st, 2010, 4 responses.

bat-pop-up-card2It’s time to start breaking out the Halloween fun! This card was shared at my last demonstrator meeting, it is just amazing! Created with the House of Haunts (111574), From the Crypt (115460) and Graveyard Gala (115458) Stamp Sets. The front uses the new Stampin’ Up Vintage Wallpaper (120175) embossing folder for the Big Shot. The inside cloud background was created using the scallop circle punch technique (see Hooty the Owl video for instructions >) The background also uses Bring on the Bats (120326) & Haunting Hill (116539) jumbo wheels.

Stay tuned this week for some BIG EXCITEMENT as I post my 100th YouTube video and more!!!

owl-punch Hoot! Hoot! My videos are back, and we are kicking it off in super stinkin’ cute style with this Hooty the Owl - owl punch tree window card. On top of creating the cutest, easiest owl, I’ll demonstrate how to make this super cool cloudy background for the inside of the card. Special thanks to Jill Hillard for this awesome design.

    Posted on August 16th, 2010, 3 responses.

babw71This is the coolest BABW (Build-Bear-Workshop) card, it folds out into a bear paper dollhouse! It was on display at Stampin’  Up!’s annual convention in July. Just the coolest stinkin’ idea! The first photo shows the “arial” view, you can see the 4 rooms. Below I’ll post some rooms individually, check out the clever uses for the SU punches, BABW stamps, and designer papers.

Win It In a Minute - SU Game Show

    Posted on August 5th, 2010, 3 responses.

bg4 Every year at the Stampin’ Up Annual Convention, there is a game show. It is always funny, and this year was not a disappointment. This year’s game show was called “Win It In a Minute“, an SU version of the popular game show “Minute to Win It“. Instead of choosing random participants from the attendees this year there was a “qualifying” cup stacking game at the Flower Power party.  My friends Cheryl and BJ wanted to play the cup stacking game, so I headed over with them, not realizing we were “qualifying” for anything. I thought we were just playing a game. After we each went, the gal at the booth wrote down our times and mine was the lowest on the sheet (granted there were only 10 names on the sheet at the time).

It wasn’t until 2 days later the names of the Game Show contestants were announced, and my name was on the list. There were 15 contestants to start, and 3 games: Ribbon Rolling, Face the Cookie and Bag Stacking. 5 people were randomly chosen for each, and competed. Face the Cookie was hilarious, you had to put a cookie on your forehead and get it to your mouth only using facial muscles. I even practiced it ahead of time just in case I was chosen for that game, but I never got it (using a Peppermint Patty didn’t help either, I had chocolate all over my face hehehe). Hats off to the cookie gals, they were awesome and funny!

I was chosen for the Ribbon Rolling, you can see my cute little partner (an employee) held the spool of SU Ribbon while I twirled it on a marker. Now THIS is something I can do, that ribbon spool was smokin’! I won that round and moved on to the semi-finals!! Wahooo….I think! The semi-finals was down to 3 of us, we had Stampin Up boxes strapped to our backs and had to shake out blocks. That was sure lots of fun, although the camera man was probably at a bad angle for some of this (if you were there you know what I mean)…ahhhh the things we do for free stamps! FUN! I put my Game Show career to rest on that round. The gal that won was super “Stinkin’ cute” and she went on to win and play 3 more games.

Special thanks to Cheryl Flynn, Patty Bennett and my Mom Sharon MacKinnon for these pictures…

    My Digital Studio Scrapbooking

Posted on August 4th, 2010, no responses.

tami-waddell1Here are some super cool My Digital Studio (MDS) scrapbook page layouts from another Tami W., my up-up-line Tami Waddell. She is really great with digital layouts, and she gave me her permission to share a couple she did of her family.

This first page she used the stamp set World Tour Brush Set (#119103 - $3.95) & Rough Type Alphabet stamp brush (#121066 - $9.95).

World Tour Stamp Brush Set - Digital Download - by Stampin' Up!Rough Type stamp brush set digital download

tami-waddell3This second page Tami used stamp brushes, paper and accessories that are included in the original software.

She had these professionally printed directly through the MDS program, then she “hybrid” by added some coordinating embellishments.

A present from Dawn! Vroom Vroom

    Posted on August 3rd, 2010, 5 responses.

tami-dawn-convention-2010My friend Dawn Griffith’s recently became a “Harley Mama” when her hubby got a new Harley Davidson motorcycle. I got my new Harley the week before convention, and she brought me this shirt from the Harley shop in Michigan!! THANKS DAWN!!! Here’s a picture of the two of us “Biker Babes”, I love this picture. What you can’t see is my formal gown under the shirt…should’ve put it on for the total “Cyndi Lauper” style effect hehehe.

motorcycle-1Here’s a cool display sample from convention using the Motorcycle stamp and polished stone technique. I have a video tutorial here of another sample demonstrating how to do this technique with ink pad refills, super cool stuff!!!

    Convention, fun and friendships!

Posted on August 3rd, 2010, no responses.

conventionHere are some more pictures from our trip to Salt Lake City, Ut last week for Stampin’ Up!’s Annual Convention. One of the best, most cherished, things Stampin Up has brought to my life is new friends. Both in my customers, the demonstrators in my group (that span from coast to coast now) and also in the awesome women I’ve met at all of the Stampin’ Up events who have now become some of my best friends!

The picture to the right is of my Mom, Sharon, and myself. I love this picture. My mom became a demonstrator last year, and she is loving every minute of it. She has also made so many new friends through Stampin’ Up. Below is a collage of some great memories from convention, I love the look on Dawn’s face when we got an entire free stampin’ package, and Oksana won a free stamp set from prize patrol. Some of my friends I’ve made through Stampin’ Up! Lee Conrey, Cheryl Flnn, Dina Anker and Stella MacKay.
