And the winners are - Drumroll please
Posted on March 31st, 2009, no responses.
It’s so much fun to enter a contest, that excitment of wondering, wishing, dreaming of the possibilities. Personally, I’m not a “lucky” gal. I never win anything randomly. So often I enter a contest and forget shortly after because I’m never “that person”. That is until last week! During the Stampin’ Up! Hawaii trip, Stampin’ Up gave away several special edition iPod’s complete with Stampin’ Up logo engraved on them. I actually put my name in the bin and never gave it a second thought because I never win. I was OVER THE MOON when I learned I had won one!
Now it’s my turn to pass on this feeling and share the excitment as I announce the winners of my “Customer Apprecation” drawing. Thanks to all who ordered during my Customer Appreciation event.
Huge congratulations go to: Read the rest of this entry…

Dolphins, Turtles and other amazing sea life

I couldn’t resist posting a few pictures from our day here at the resort in Hawaii. We just “hung out” with the locals…the local sea turtles, the local dolphins, sting rays and even the eels (not so crazy about the eels). We snorkeling and swam in the resort’s lagoon, which is approx. 4 acres, salt water fed and has many species of fish, and more that come in and hang out in it.
One of the coolest visitors to the lagoon is the sea turtles that swim in and munch on the algae around the waterfall. At any one time there seemed like there was 10 or more turtles hanging out, and they swim right up to and by you as if you weren’t there. They are protected, and you’re not supposed to touch them…but there’s no law against them touching you and they did swim into us a couple times. It was one of the coolest (and at times freakiest) experiences. The one “local” in the lagoon we did not enjoy, was an eel who seemed to want to follow Leasa and I, we screamed like little girls hehehe. Read the rest of this entry…
A post from paradise

We have arrived landed in Kona, Hawaii on Sunday and at first glance it felt like we were landing right on a volcano with all of the lava. Very wild stuff. We got to the Hilton Waikoloa Village and immediately felt like we were in paradise. This is one of the most amazing places I’ve ever been to.
Stampin’ Up threw a welcome party by one of the pools our first night. We were greeted by cute Hawaiians bearing beads and flowers for our hair. The picture to the right is part of our gang (and former Advisory board) Leasa Williams, myself, Dale Filemore (President of SU), Cheryl Flynn and Catherine Pooler.
Below are some other cool pics, there are whales frolicking right outside our hotel room. Read the rest of this entry…
A little fun in the sun from Honolulu

Greetings from Waikiki Beach - Honolulu, Hawaii!
We are getting ready to spend our last night on this island before we head over to the Big Island tomorrow to meet up with the Stampin’ Up party. We took this picture to the right last night at dinner from our table.
We went to Pearl Harbor yesterday and visited the Memorial, with good friends Cheryl & Casey Flynn, and Leasa & Aaron Williams. We went to Chinatown for some fabulous Dim Sum. Then today we all climbed the Diamond Head crater, formed by a volcanic blast 300,000 years ago. It was a lot of stairs, but the view was sooooo worth it!

Top Note purse card - too cute

This card was made by Dania Welch. She die cut the Top Note on the double sided paper, and folded the top over to create a purse, then added some ribbon. It’s attached with Stampin’ Up dimensionals, so it’s raised and a note card can be placed in the purse. This paper is the Delicate Dots designer paper available during Sale A Bration for free (only thru March 31).
The flowers were stamped with the Sale A Bration set: Polka dot Punches, then punched out with Stampin’ Up’s 5 petal punch which fits that image perfectly. Read the rest of this entry…

Animal Crackers card kit & Stamp for a Cause was a huge success!!!
You may remember this kit was designed by Heather Summers, a fellow Stampin’ Up Demonstrator in Canada. She created this to raise money for a fundraiser to raise money for Pediatric Cancer, and for a special little boy who was diagnosed with Stage IV Neuroblastoma. When I heard what Heather was doing, and saw this class she had designed, I knew wanted to be a part of it, so I donated a portion of the sales from each Animal Crackers card kit to the Jimmy Fund / Dana Farber Institute to support cancer research.
I’m SUPER EXCITED to report the total amount raised for Cancer Research from the sales of this kit were $300!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you to all who were a part of this!!! You gals are the BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!! Click here to see the winners of the free stamps >

My stamp club theme this month is watercoloring with aqua painters. I enjoy watercoloring, I find it very soothing and stress relieving.
This gorgeous card using the Music Expressions stamp set is one of the club projects. Layering color ans shading your image when watercoloring creates depth. You’ll notice how the cello appears to “pop” right off of this card.
I’ve created this short video snippet to demonstrate how the cello shading was created. Click on the video below to view. Read the rest of this entry…
