clockworks-brenda riveraHere's a great masculine card idea from Brenda Rivera. Brenda shared this at a recent Stamp It Demonstrator Group meeting. Brenda used the Clockworks stamp set (#131973 w, #127292 cm) and the Game Spinner hands for the clock face. Brenda used the circle punches and bigz dies, however you can also use the the new Circle Framelits that were just released to create the circle pattern. WINNER: Chalk Talk Stamp Set drawing

free stampin up winner

Congratulations to Rita, who won my Free Chalk Talk stamp set (details here) for posting her fav new product on my Google Plus page. I loved reading all of your favorites, and will be using your feedback for choosing what to show in my upcoming videos!

Magnetic Platform for the Big Shot Framelits was the biggest hit, followed by many other great choices. Including the Candy Dots, which I used in yesterday's Joy Fold Card video.

There are still chances to win free stamps in both my Mystery Hostess Code: #PH34HGQU drawing (ends Monday) & Comment Craze drawing (ends June 15).

VIDEO: Joy Fold Sketched Birthday Card

sketched birthday-stampwithtami-joy foldThis is an awesome, fun, easy and cool card fold technique called the "joy fold". This card was created by my friend Liz Miller at Stampin With Liz. Sharing Liz's card was perfect because it has a special meaning for us, we both won this set free at Stampin' Up Leadership in January and couldn't show it until the new Catalog was released!! Pure torture!!! Check out the funny pic of Liz and I with the set in the video.

Alon with the Sketched Birthday and Really Good Greetings stamp sets, I'm also using the new Candy Dots ... voted one of the most popular new items in the catalog according to my recent FB + Google+ polls! And a touch of Dazzling Details Glitter beings some sparkle to the candle.

VIDEO: Horse Frontier “Lost Footage” Video

horse-frontier-tami-whiteToday's video is "lost footage" taped a year ago when the Horse Frontier and Core-dinations card stock were first introduced. I'm so glad I found it, it's really cool. The Core'dinations sandable card stock is the perfect backdrop to the horse image.

I apologize, since this footage is from last year a couple of the products shown have since been discontinued but they are easily substituted. The words can easily be subbed with either the words that come in the Horse Frontier stamp set. The ribbon slide can easily be replaced with the Naturals Designer Buttons.

Favorite New Products from the Concept Art Team – What is your fav?

Below is a post from the Stampin' Up! Home Office - Concept Art Team sharing their favorite new products.

Q: What is your favorite new product?
I love it all, hard to narrow down ... but I especially love the new magnetic platform for the Big Shot machine!!!

Our New Favorite Products

One of the best parts about being concept artists is that we get to see and use our new products so early. Actually, it can be a little torturous to use the new products and then have to wait to share with everyone else. We’re so glad that it’s now time to share all of the wonderful new products in our latest annual catalog!

Each of us has made a quick sample using some of our favorite new products.

Robyn:

Here are some of my favorites from the new catalog:

Angie:

There are SO many favorites in this catalog that it was hard to choose only a few.

Here is a list of my MUST HAVE RIGHT NOWs:

My favorite color combo right now is:

Crushed Curry, Coastal Cabana, Bermuda Bay, and Basic Gray – and any products containing those colors: washi tape, buttons, ribbons, Designer Series Paper, etc.

Melody:

I agree with the other girls: there are so many new and exciting products in this catalog—it’s hard to pick just a few—but somehow I managed! The favorites I picked for my project are:

I only used Pistachio Pudding and Crisp Cantaloupe on my card, but I love all of the colors in the new revamp. It was sad to see some of them go, but I honestly love the returning and new colors so much that I haven’t missed the old colors at all.

Chrissy:

Some of my absolute favorite things out of the new catalog (in no particular order) are:

  • The Basic Black 3/4'' Chevron Ribbon because it's so versatile. You can cut it down the middle for a skinnier diagonal-striped ribbon. It's amazing, and a must-have.
  • The Chalk Talk Framelits Dies are great for making fun-shaped tags, and I love gift wrapping. It's also a must-have.
  • The Dictionary Background Stamp can be made to look vintage, eclectic, or bright and fun. There are so many looks you can achieve with this one background stamp! Not to mention book paper is still one of my favorite trends. This will definitely be joining my background stamp collection at home on my shelf. No doubt I'll be reaching for it often.
  • Some of the new colors make me want to do a happy dance. Crushed Curry (oh, how I missed you!), Bermuda Bay, and the brand new Coastal Cabana are all absolutely beautiful!

And, last (but certainly not least) is MDS. One of my favorite features is being able to cut out some of our images with an e-cutter. It's one of my favorite things lately, and I don't think I’ll be getting tired of it anytime soon . . . or ever. It's amazing software and I love it!

Jen:

There’s so much to love in our new annual catalog. I recently won a little Stampin’ Up! product certificate from our health fair at the home office. I’ve been holding off on redeeming my certificate so I could get my favorite new things:

  • Tag a Bag Bundle – I’m thrilled to have Crushed Curry and Bermuda Bay back! I love the colors in the Tag a Bag Accessory Kit. They’re versatile and bright, and I can’t wait to use them for treat bags. And they’re a great value at $9.95 for the bundle.
  • Thanks & Hello Stamp Set – Thanks & Hello are also versatile. I send more cards with “Thanks” or “Just because” than anything else. They’re sure to be a “go-to” set in my collection at home.
  • Crushed Curry 3/4" Chevron Ribbon – I love adding ribbon to gifts and treats. With the chevron pattern in crushed curry and white, it was love at first sight!

We hope that you are enjoying the new annual catalog as much as we are. And we’d love to hear what’s on the top of your shopping list . . . !

NEW: Photopolymer Stamp Set – Wanderlust

We're excited to announce that a new photopolymer stamp set is now available. Wanderlust (item 133452) is a great set for travelers-and wannabe travelers too. You and your customers will want to make sure to get this for capturing your summer trip memories, or to send a hand-made postcard to a friend or family member.

VIDEO: Open Sea Ship “Man Card”

the open sea-man card-stampwithtamijpgI love the schooner ship and nautical images in the Open Sea Stamp Set, and when you add the Clockworks stamp set into the mix with a little magic you get this amazing masculine card. Using colors like: Marina Mist & Pacific Point simply enhance the "nautical" theme. Perfect for birthdays, Father's Day, or any occasion for the men in your life. Inspired by my friend Michelle Zindorf.

There are some fun "direct to paper" techniques in the video, as well as some "funny" goof ups that I left in for your amusement, and I saved a few for an upcoming blooper real (Stay Tuned). Honestly, this video could have been it's own "blooper" episode lol. Did you ever have one of those days? Friends don't let friends create videos before caffeine!

MDS FRAMES: Quotable Calendar Template Frames

If you've seen some of my MDS video tutorial playlist on youtube, you may be familiar with Holly Linford, she is like an MDS Queen at the Stampin' Up! home office lol. Below is a post Holly shared on mydigitalstudio.net, with the coolest frames....going waaaay "outside the box"...

The 2013 Quotable Calendar Template was designed to be a calendar. You probably figured that out by the use of the word “calendar” in the title. It’s a cute calendar, but I didn’t need a calendar. I wanted a home décor project. And I wanted to use this template to make one. So I did.

That’s the great thing about MDS. YOU are the boss of the templates. You can turn them into whatever you want them to be. And it’s super easy.

So I took this template:

And turned it into this:

And this:

And also this:

I did the same thing for every single month, but you get the picture. I made this project as a birthday gift for a friend of mine. I’ll give her the frame and all twelve quotes and she can rotate them monthly.

This was such a simple project! These calendar pages actually come in an 11" x 8-1/2" template with the calendar in the middle of the page. They are designed for you to print and cut them down to size, so they are a very easy project to print from home.

I wanted mine to be exact Stampin’ Up! colors though, so I decided to use the print service. I changed them from 11" x 8-1/2" to a 5" x 7" postcard. Once I had them the size I wanted, all I needed to do was tweak them a little bit. I deleted the calendar, moved the solid color rectangle from the right side to the bottom of the page, and then centered the quote. That’s all there is to it!

The beauty of the postcard is that you can print them double sided, so I ended up printing six double sided postcards. All six postcards will fit inside my frame, so they will always be easy to find when it’s time to switch them out.

What a super fun birthday gift! And since the work was already done, I ordered another couple sets to have on hand for future birthday presents. Since I’ve taken the calendar part off, I’ll be able to use these cute, but inexpensive, gifts any time of year. This would also be a great project to do with the Be Awesome Today Easel Calendar Template, if you prefer those quotes and designs.

Remember, you are the boss of the template! You aren’t limited to what it is. Turn it into whatever you want it to be.

PAPER PUMPKIN: May Ideas from Arika

paper pumpkin-stampin up-stampwithtami
Did you get your Paper Pumpkin this month?!?! OMG! Move over Stampin' Success magazine, you're now my 2nd favorite time of the month...Paper Pumpkin has become my new fav!
I got soooo excited for May's when Stampin Up posted this picture of them going out. Look how yummy all of those boxes look ... oh how fun it must be to work at SU!
970693_10151573829897512_703590837_n
Below are some ideas for the May Paper Pumpkin kit - "outside the box" from SU Concept Artist, Arika:
When I was helping to design this kit I knew I wanted to make something that would be a fun and easy way to use Instagram photos. (I absolutely love Instagram photos and I loved putting this little mini album together using my growing stash.) After I finished my cute little album, I started playing around with other ways to use this kit. Here is what I came up with!

These cards were super-simple to put together. I used the Woodgrain Background Stamp to add some texture to the Whisper White Cardstock, added a few ink splatters, then stamped the little arrow stamp. I didn’t want the “Love this” on the card, so when I stamped it I just used a piece of tape to cover the word on the ink pad, then pulled it off before I stamped it on the paper. You can also use a Stampin’ Write Marker to mask out an unwanted piece of the stamp. I love the Polaroid frames in this kit! They look so cute on these cards with a little washi tape on top and the punched out heart in the middle. So simple and fun.

I also thought it would be fun to do a little scrapbooking with this kit. I took my favorite photos from the month of February and put together a few pages to remember our February. I used My Digital Studio to add some journaling to the photos and the paper from the kit, but other than that, everything I used came from the kit. I love how it turned out!
The “Best year yet” card came in the mail for my birthday from Anthropologie. I love including things from my everyday life in my scrapbooking. I know I will be using the Love This arrow stamp a ton in other memory keeping projects I am working on. It is just such a fun and versatile little stamp.

To get the printing on the cute paper that comes with the kit, I just ran it through the printer. I made the quoted tab in My Digital Studio. As you can see, I had a ton of fun adding the little tickets and words all over my pictures. I love how the kit comes with so many.

I hope you guys have as much fun playing with your Paper Pumpkin as I did!
