Win It In a Minute – SU Game Show

bg4 Every year at the Stampin’ Up Annual Convention, there is a game show. It is always funny, and this year was not a disappointment. This year’s game show was called “Win It In a Minute“, an SU version of the popular game show “Minute to Win It“. Instead of choosing random participants from the attendees this year there was a “qualifying” cup stacking game at the Flower Power party.  My friends Cheryl and BJ wanted to play the cup stacking game, so I headed over with them, not realizing we were “qualifying” for anything. I thought we were just playing a game. After we each went, the gal at the booth wrote down our times and mine was the lowest on the sheet (granted there were only 10 names on the sheet at the time).

It wasn’t until 2 days later the names of the Game Show contestants were announced, and my name was on the list. There were 15 contestants to start, and 3 games: Ribbon Rolling, Face the Cookie and Bag Stacking. 5 people were randomly chosen for each, and competed. Face the Cookie was hilarious, you had to put a cookie on your forehead and get it to your mouth only using facial muscles. I even practiced it ahead of time just in case I was chosen for that game, but I never got it (using a Peppermint Patty didn’t help either, I had chocolate all over my face hehehe). Hats off to the cookie gals, they were awesome and funny!

I was chosen for the Ribbon Rolling, you can see my cute little partner (an employee) held the spool of SU Ribbon while I twirled it on a marker. Now THIS is something I can do, that ribbon spool was smokin’! I won that round and moved on to the semi-finals!! Wahooo….I think! The semi-finals was down to 3 of us, we had Stampin Up boxes strapped to our backs and had to shake out blocks. That was sure lots of fun, although the camera man was probably at a bad angle for some of this (if you were there you know what I mean)…ahhhh the things we do for free stamps! FUN! I put my Game Show career to rest on that round. The gal that won was super “Stinkin’ cute” and she went on to win and play 3 more games.

Special thanks to Cheryl Flynn, Patty Bennett and my Mom Sharon MacKinnon for these pictures…
