Win It In a Minute - SU Game Show
Posted on August 5th, 2010, 3 responses.
Every year at the Stampin’ Up Annual Convention, there is a game show. It is always funny, and this year was not a disappointment. This year’s game show was called “Win It In a Minute“, an SU version of the popular game show “Minute to Win It“. Instead of choosing random participants from the attendees this year there was a “qualifying” cup stacking game at the Flower Power party. My friends Cheryl and BJ wanted to play the cup stacking game, so I headed over with them, not realizing we were “qualifying” for anything. I thought we were just playing a game. After we each went, the gal at the booth wrote down our times and mine was the lowest on the sheet (granted there were only 10 names on the sheet at the time).
It wasn’t until 2 days later the names of the Game Show contestants were announced, and my name was on the list. There were 15 contestants to start, and 3 games: Ribbon Rolling, Face the Cookie and Bag Stacking. 5 people were randomly chosen for each, and competed. Face the Cookie was hilarious, you had to put a cookie on your forehead and get it to your mouth only using facial muscles. I even practiced it ahead of time just in case I was chosen for that game, but I never got it (using a Peppermint Patty didn’t help either, I had chocolate all over my face hehehe). Hats off to the cookie gals, they were awesome and funny!
I was chosen for the Ribbon Rolling, you can see my cute little partner (an employee) held the spool of SU Ribbon while I twirled it on a marker. Now THIS is something I can do, that ribbon spool was smokin’! I won that round and moved on to the semi-finals!! Wahooo….I think! The semi-finals was down to 3 of us, we had Stampin Up boxes strapped to our backs and had to shake out blocks. That was sure lots of fun, although the camera man was probably at a bad angle for some of this (if you were there you know what I mean)…ahhhh the things we do for free stamps! FUN! I put my Game Show career to rest on that round. The gal that won was super “Stinkin’ cute” and she went on to win and play 3 more games.
Special thanks to Cheryl Flynn, Patty Bennett and my Mom Sharon MacKinnon for these pictures…

Convention, fun and friendships!
Posted on August 3rd, 2010, no responses.
Here are some more pictures from our trip to Salt Lake City, Ut last week for Stampin’ Up!’s Annual Convention. One of the best, most cherished, things Stampin Up has brought to my life is new friends. Both in my customers, the demonstrators in my group (that span from coast to coast now) and also in the awesome women I’ve met at all of the Stampin’ Up events who have now become some of my best friends!
The picture to the right is of my Mom, Sharon, and myself. I love this picture. My mom became a demonstrator last year, and she is loving every minute of it. She has also made so many new friends through Stampin’ Up. Below is a collage of some great memories from convention, I love the look on Dawn’s face when we got an entire free stampin’ package, and Oksana won a free stamp set from prize patrol. Some of my friends I’ve made through Stampin’ Up! Lee Conrey, Cheryl Flnn, Dina Anker and Stella MacKay.

Flower Power Party Pics from Convention
Posted on July 27th, 2010, 2 responses.
We had a huge “Flower Power” party at Stampin’ Up!’s conventionin Salt Lake City this past week, what fun this was!! Almost everyone (but me) was dressed in “groovy garb” and it was just hilarious! The photo in the center of the collage below is of Stampin’ Up!’s Corporate Team, they all were all Groovy and Hilarious!! The picture to the right is of my self and Dale Fillmore (President of Stampin Up), and if you look below you can see him with his long black haired wig with my girls (sooooo funny).
We played lots of games for prizes at the party. My friend (and downline) Liz Miller won one of the drawings and got a fantastic stamping package!! My friends Cheryl and BJ dragged me over to play a cup stacking challenge that was super fun! I had the lowest time of the sheet at the time I played (there were only 10 names at that station at the time), I didn’t realize until after that we were competing to be in the Stampin’ Up! Game Show “Win it in a Minute” (take off on “Minute to Win It”).
I found out 2 days later that my time in in cup stacking had qualified me to be a game show contestant!! More on that to come.

#2 Demonstrator of the Year! THANK YOU!
Posted on July 26th, 2010, 5 responses.
WOW!!!! I just got back from Stampin’ Up!’s Annual Conventionin Salt Lake City, UT, what an amazing event. I have sooo much news, ideas and more to share with you this blog will be rockin’ over the next few weeks with cool new convention ideas! One of the biggest highlights for me from convention was the annual Stampin’ Up! Awards night. This photo to the right is of a few of the demos in my group (including my mom). They are the BEST!
Upon check in I was surprised with a “Founders Circle” bag, which meant that I would be awarded a spot in the top 100 demonstrators of the company, and am invited to the annual Founder’s Circle retreat. That’s all I knew, I could have been anywhere from 100 to 1. I was shocked and shaking when they announced I had earned:
Stampin’ Up’s #2 DEMONSTRATOR OF THE YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WOWOWOW!!! I was also awarded with #3 Sales person and #6 Recruiter! What an amazing honor! I am just completely blown away. These accomplishments are all possible thanks to my incredible customers and the demonstrators in my downline group. You gals are the BEST and I am honored to be your demonstrator, thank you for choosing me!!!
Here are some pictures from the awards, and of my FC bag and the stamp sets that came with all of the awards. I will have more pictures, fun stories and projects from convention 2010 so stay tuned!

Where in the world is Tami - I’m back!!!
Posted on July 13th, 2010, 6 responses.
I’m so sorry for the week without posting, it was completely unexpected. We went on a family vacation to the beautiful, rocky shore of Belfast, ME last week and I thought I’d have internet access and would be able to post from the trip. Turns out I was not able to get online, which would’ve been fine had I known ahead of time, I’d have planned for it.
Sadly, while we were away we received word that a good friend had passed away from cancer. We came back early to support and celebrate her life with family and friends. After the services on Monday, Steve and I took our motorcycles out for a long ride. We wanted to enjoy some time together, and were both thinking life is too short to not take some time out.
Somehow our ride landed at the Harley Davidson dealer, Steve needed a new pair of sunglasses. The next thing you know, we’re looking at new motorcycles and bidding goodbye to my Honda Shadow and driving away on a brand new 2010 Harley!! I guess the moral of the story is don’t go to the Harley dealer after a funeral when you’re feeling life’s too short…Steve got one heck of an expensive pair of sunglasses lol!
Stay tuned tomorrow when I bring cool stamping projects back to the blog!!
