Crosses of Hope

With Easter fast approaching, many of our thoughts and creativity turns to the Lord and the “reason for the season”. Today’s card is one of my favorite religious Easter cards, created with the Crosses of Hope stamp set #117136 wood, #120567 clear mount. The words are from the God’s Blessings stamp set #114972.
Created by Esther Villasana. Esther embossed the 3 crosses from the stamp set in silver, on basic black card stock and cut them out. The circle was punched from SU Brushed Silver card stock #100712, layered on Wisteria Wonder card stock #122922.

Owl punch roses for Easter

Another stinkin’ cute punched flower idea, this one comes from the Owl Builder punch 118074 of all punches lol. So cute, and really easy to make. This was a swap from my Spring Swap (for current swap click here), and sadly I sent them back after photographing and this particular swap didn’t have a name on it…my apologies if it’s yours drop me a note so I can give you credit.

Here’s a clever use for your Ovals Big Shot die #114525…flower pot!! So fun!The flower images are from the Mixed Bunch stamp set #125535 wood, #125537 clear mount. Flowers were punched with the Blossom Punch #125603. Both of these items are from the Spring Occasions mini catalog.

Created with Stampin’ Up!’s Bird Builder Punch (of all things), and although we had to “trim their tails” fear not no birds were harmed in the making of this card!

Mother’s Day theme - Customer Card Swap

Let’s hear it for the Mom’s!!! Cards swaps are a lot of fun, and one of my favorite parts of Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator events. By request from my “clubbers” I am hosting a “Mother’s Day Theme” full card swap or your own! Come join the fun. I will open this up to non-club members as well. I’m posting some samples here from a previous card swap.
This first card uses the Elegant Bird Bigz Die #125593 for the angel wings, and the words are from the Rue Des Fleurs stamp set (#125924 wood, #125926 clear mount) from the Occasions Mini. I’ve posted a few more ideas below.

- Theme: Mother’s Day
- Make 5 Full Cards of the same design using a Mother’s Day theme
If you would like more cards, you may sign up for 2 different sets (for 10 swaps in return)
Standard Card size is: 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″, this is not a required size, just a guide. - Current Stampin’ Up! Materials: All supplies: including stamps, ink colors, papers, etc. should be current Stampin’ Up! products.
Often we fall in love with a card we received in a swap and want to copy it. Swaps also help us think of new ways to use for our SU products we have. For these reasons the cards should have all current Stampin’ Up products. - Cards must have a minimum 2 layers of card stock or designer paper. Most have more.
- At least 1 embellishment (Ribbon, brads, etc) Most have more.
- Please put your name and contact info on a sticky note on the back in case someone has questions, or uses your swap and wants to credit you. Recipes of the supplies/techniques you used are always welcome. Please don’t permanently stick labels to the actual card so we can use them.

Fun with Flowers

Spring is in the air here in New England, it’s been in the 60’s and 70’s all week and the first signs of my tulips are starting to pop out of ground. Flowers make me happy! Today I’m sharing some fun flower swaps in honor of spring.
The first card is a bouquet of flowers using the Awash with Flowers stamp set #117062 wood, #120549 clear mount. It also features the Beveled Windowpane #121881 and Pear Pizzazz poly-stitched ribbon #119265. The next 2 cards are fun flowers with punches. The vase is made from the Ornament Punch #119847 and Boho Blossoms Punch #119858. Beautiful roses and the leaves/branch were all created from the Bird Builder Punch #117191. The rose card was created by Cynthia Millan.

Bleeding Heart beauty from Michelle

I received this beautiful “Bleeding Heart” card from my friend Michelle Zindorf. It’s such a beautiful work of art, using the Pocket Silhouettes stamp set #111672, Stampin’ Sponges #101610 and a Brayer #102395. Michelle’s cards are works of art, I’m such a huge fan and so touched, on several levels, to receive this in the mail. She put a Bleeding Heart tutorial for this card up on her blog.

Fresh Vintage SAB Card from Mary

I received this beautiful card from my friend Mary Fish. Mary used the Fresh Vintage Stamp set (125115 wood, 125117 clear mount) found in the Sale a Bration catalog. She punched the post images out with the 1″ Square Punch #124094, then punched the coordinating card stock colors in the Postage stamp punch #122344. The words “Thoughts of you” are from the Loving Thoughts stamp set #125843 wood, #125845 Clear Mount.

More beautiful cards with Sympathy

Here are a few more of the beautiful hand-stamped sympathy cards I received from friends this week.This first card was from friend Jean Brown. I love, love how she created these trees. The tree trunks and “thinking of you” are from the Trendy Trees stamp set #113258. The top of the trees was created with the Doily Triple Layer punch #122465. This punch is like having 2 punches in 1. She punched the solid image of the punch in Pretty in Pink, then punched it again in Limeade with the most detailed option of the punch and layered them on top.
The second card is from my assistant, and friend, Ellen Quintin. Ellen used the Three Little Words stamp set #113254 . Ellen stamped the flower in Soft Suede, then cut them out for this effect.

Sweet Sorrow - Beautiful Sympathy Cards

Thank you to all for your thoughts, prayers and support through the passing of my step-father, Dick MacKinnon. We received some of the most beautiful sympathy cards, and touching notes. Sadly, we all need sympathy card ideas. Wish that weren’t a part of life, but since it is for all of us, I thought I’d share a few for inspiration in sorrowful times.

Very special fan mail from Katelyn

This week I received the most touching, and stinkin’ cutest card in the mail from a very special fan. I was so touched when I received this card in the mail, I had tears in my eyes. Let me share a little bit about Katelyn, she is 5 years old (can you believe that?) and her mom Kim writes:
“My daughter, Katelyn, loves watching your videos. She is 5 years old and your videos are her go to entertainment on youtube … She has actually taught ME a lot of things and gives me little facts as we’re crafting that she has picked up from watching videos on her own. I asked her what she had in mind and she said she wanted to make YOU a card!! She spent all day Satruday re-watching your videos to decide what she wanted to make and we sat down Saturday night and she was just exploding with creativity! I was quite impressed. “
I am so touched both by Katelyn’s generosity, her sweet note and also super impressed by her creativity! Not only did she combined my Doggie punch and Punchy the Lion sweet treat card to create this SUPER STINKIN’ CUTE doggie treat card BUT check out her ingenuity on the back creating a “trap door” so the candy can be eaten without ruining the card!! I sense a future demonstrator here Kim. Thank you both for this awesome gift, and for inspiring me! Tops on the Stinkin’ Cute-o-meter!!!

Let’s have some fun the “Tote-ally Tess in a Dress”. These cards were created using the Totally Tess stamp set #117076 wood, #118595 clear mount and she’s all “dressed up”. The first card is Tess in a wedding dress, super fun!! My apologies on the “shoddy” photo, I cut off one side (oops), you can still see what a fun idea this is.Next is Tess in a party dress (made of oval punches). Way to “outside the box” and “into a dress”.

Today’s post consists of several fun card ideas. This first card uses the Doily Triple Layer punch #122465 as flowers and the Precious Butterflies Hostess stamp set #122515 wood, #122517 clear mount. Stamp Club Spring Card Theme Card Swap

Swing into Spring - Stampin’ Up Stamp Club Customer Card Swap
Cards swaps are a lot of fun, and one of my favorite parts of Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator events. By request from my “clubbers” I am hosting a “Spring / Easter theme” full card swap or your own! Come join the fun. I will open this up to non-club members as well. I’m posting some samples here from a previous card swap at Leadership to give an idea of what to expect. This first card uses the Bordering on Romance Stamp set (#125480 wood, #125482 clear mount) and Labels Framelits #125598, see below for more swaps.

- Theme: Spring and/ or Easter
- Make 5 Full Cards of the same design using a Spring / Easter theme
If you would like more cards, you may sign up for 2 different sets (for 10 swaps in return)
Standard Card size is: 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″, this is not a required size, just a guide. - Current Stampin’ Up! Materials: All supplies: including stamps, ink colors, papers, etc. should be current Stampin’ Up! products.
Often we fall in love with a card we received in a swap and want to copy it. Swaps also help us think of new ways to use for our SU products we have. For these reasons the cards should have all current Stampin’ Up products. - Cards must have a minimum 2 layers of card stock or designer paper. Most have more.
- At least 1 embellishment (Ribbon, brads, etc) Most have more.
- Please put your name and contact info on a sticky note on the back in case someone has questions, or uses your swap and wants to credit you. Recipes of the supplies/techniques you used are always welcome. Please don’t permanently stick labels to the actual card so we can use them.

Nature Silhouettes Wolf Card - Part 3

The third and final installment in my series of Nature Silhouettes Stamp Set #11154 is the wolf baying at the moon. This time my inspiration came from a similar swap card from my friend Debi Pipen. The background is done with sponge daubers #102892, and masked the moon (see similar video tutorials linked on part 1 of this series). The Labels Framelits #125598 create the layers, and some texture comes from both the Vintage Wallpaper #120175 and Square Lattice #119976 impressions folders.

Nature Silhouettes Deer Card - Part 2

Part 2 in my series of Nature Silhouettes Stamp Set #11154 that my friend Shayna and I created, is the lone stag. Another inspiration from my gal Michelle Zindorf. The tree was colored direct to rubber with Stampin’ Write markers, than stamped on the image. Then some white gel pen #105021 highlights. The background is done with sponge daubers #102892, and a little masking and some help from the Plant Hope stamp set (#117042 wood, #120540 clear mount). Houndstooth impressions folder #123134 for texture on the black.

Nature Silhouettes Deer Card - Part 1

The Nature Silhouettes Stamp Set #11154 is one of those underused greats in the Stampin’ Up! Catalog! The Wolf and Deer/Stag silhouettes are great, so many possibilities. My friend Shayna and I have been creating with this set, today’s card is the first in our series. The inspiration for it came from the great Michelle Zindorf. The background is done with sponge daubers, and a little masking. Other stamp sets we used are Lovely as a Tree #115026 and Extreme Elements #115181.

VIDEO TUTORIAL: Inspired by Nature and the Distressing Kit

Today’s video focuses on the Stampin’ Up! Distressing Essentials kit #118762, or as I like to call it the “de-stress” kit hehehe. It creates gorgeous vintage effects like this one with it’s vintage “flavor” (color) ink spots and stamp. Along with this distressing technique, we will be doing a little “emboss resist” technique to add to this beautiful card. The stamp set is Inspired By Nature #111656.
More video highlights: Share “silly” excitement as I use my brand new Big Shot die cut machine #113439 for the first time…ahhhh the small treasures in life;) It’s not the first time I’ve used my Big Shot (obviously I love my Big Shot from my videos), I just got a new one for my bigger classes and this was it’s first time “out of the package”.
