Kind & Caring Thoughts - Look here pop up card
Posted on June 27th, 2009, no responses.
I am in LOVE!! In the new Stampin’ Up Idea Book and Catalog there is a pop up die called “Look Here”, it turns any card into a Pop Up 3-D gift card holder!!
It has these cool arrows that point to the gift card, when you open up the card it “springs” to life.
And that’s not the only cool new product featured on this card. The stamp set is an upcoming hostess stamp set called “Kind & Caring Thoughts“. If you like this beauty, you’ll want to book a workshop or join a club right away to earn it free.
Also featured here is the new Raspberry Lemonade Designer Paper on the inside, the
new and polka dot ribbon that comes in all of the new In Colors!! How cool is this??
The last sample is the same card shown in the new Mango Melon In Color.

Posted on June 24th, 2009, no responses.
With the release of the new Stampin’ Up catalog, and all of the excitement surrounding it (including the big party tomorrow) I am teasing y’all with a brand new stamp set coming out July 1. This is called Lots of Bots.
This card uses some more cool new products coming out: The Modern Label punch, and Melon Mambo (new In color) paper and stampin’ write marker. YES!! You read that right, the new in colors will also be coming out in markers!!
I also used crystal effects on the robot and “hardware” to give the card character and dimension. See the close up for more detail.

Thoughts of Father
Posted on June 21st, 2009, no responses.
Happy Father’s Day! This card was made with the Thoughts of Father stamp set which is retiring this month. I love this old car, it reminds me of a museum of old cars and planes that we visit on Father’s Day most years.
I loved the monochromatic look with just a touch of white gel pen to make it pop. The car was stamped in Versamark, then colored with Stampin’ Pastels and a sponge dauber (Poppin Pastels technique). For the aged effect, I sponged the edges of the kraft card stock, then used the Stampin’ Up color spritzer and chocolate chip stampin’ write marker over the top of the entire card.

Thank you! Update on the Fundraiser
Posted on June 19th, 2009, no responses.
Thank you to all (both local and long distance) who participated in the “Stamp for Sandy” fundraiser this past weekend!
I offered a special class and kit to help raise money for my friend, Sandy LeDuc, who is currenly undergoing chemo for a very aggressive form of cancer. This money is to help her and her family with the costs associated with the treatments. She is unable to work during this time, and has 3 children.
Thanks to all, we raised $425.00 from the sale of the kits and the class!!!
I love being able to use stamping to make a difference, especially when that difference is helping someone you care about. Read the rest of this entry…
Totally Tool - Father’s Day Card
Posted on June 18th, 2009, no responses.
Is this a guy card or what? Perfect for Father’s Day, or a man’s birthday!
We made this at my June stamp club, it was a huge hit, and so fun! The saw image is stamped with Staz On black ink. Colored with Creamy Caramel & Going Gray stampin’ write markers. Then we did the “cracked glass” technique using Versamark and SU Glassy Glaze embossing powder (see images below). You need at least 2 layers of the embossing powder. Once it’s cool, bend the panel to crack it.
Putting aluminum foil in the Big Shot with the Harlequin texturz plates is super cool! Looks just like a “tool chest” background. This card idea was inspired by Tiffany Bauer (thanks Tiffany!)

This is part 5 in my series of pictures from the New England Demo Extravaganza Sat. May 30.
These are fantastic pins. This technique was presented by Selene Kempton. She used stamp sets on some, and some were from the big shot, mod podge, crystal effects and a pin backing. Click the gallery to the right (or the slide show below) to view pics from Selene’s presentation and her samples. Very cool!

| New England Stampin’ Up Demonstrator Extravaganza - part 4 |
This is part 4 in my series of pictures from the New England Demo Extravaganza Sat. May 30.
This is another super cool technique presentation, shared by Sharon Skelton. A couple of years ago, the hottest technique was putting Future Floor Wax in an aqua painter and painting with pearl ex. Who knew how cool this would be?? Well the Future Floor Wax / Aqua Painter duet is back and better then ever.
Sharon shared how to simply paint using the ink pad refills and the floor wax will seal the color. And when she painted on the silk flowers from the SU pretties kit, it not only sealed them it made the stiffen when it dried so they hold their shape.

| New England Stampin’ Up Demonstrator Extravaganza - part 3 |
This is part 3 in my series of pictures from the New England Demo Extravaganza Sat. May 30.
Sharon Skelton has been a demonstrator with Stampin Up for 19 years! What an honor, wow! She presented 2 really cool techniques. These pictures are of one of them (stay tuned for the 2nd technique). In this technique, Sharon used Stampin’ Up Designer Paper, the Big Shot and Texturz Plates to give the designer paper texture. Then she lightly sanded the raised part of the “texture”, this removed the color from the raised part and created a very cool effect.
There is a Slideshow below, or click on the right for the full photo album of her demonstration.
