Congratulations to Regina Maginnis!! Regina was the Grand Prize winner of a Big Shot Die cut machine at the New England Demonstrator Event Saturday in Framingham, MA.
Her reaction was priceless, I wish I had a video camera! She was very excited.
This event was fant-a-bulous! I have so much more to post on it, but I don’t have all of the pictures downloaded yet (thanks to Selene Kempton for emailing me this one as I couldn’t wait to post about it). Stay tuned this week for a recap and some pics of the incredible displays from the event! There were so many displays the Sheraton had to bring in more tables to fit them all…and they were AWESOME!!!

Surf’s Up - Sporty Surfer Cookie Jar

I’ve just been dying to do something fun with this surfer dude! It is the perfect summer accent, and this was a very easy and cool project. Simply rub the surfer on the jar, viola! That’s all there is to it.
This is a cookie jar from Target, and the small Sporty Surfer in small/taken with teal.

Trashy-chic - decorative recycle bins

We entertain at home a lot in the summer. I often tie trash bags to sections of the deck for convenience so people don’t have to walk too far to find one.
This morning I went outside to find I’d forgotten to bring one of the bags inside and my dog had found it, tried to eat it and had gotten himself stuck in it. Of course I panicked, the dog is fine (thank goodness) and I ran right out to the store to buy some bins for the trash and recycling. No more hanging bags.
In a flash of inspiration, I whipped out the Big Shot and my rolls of vinyl Decor Elements adhesive sheets to make custom labels. Did you know you could by these in rolls? And I didn’t stop at the labels, I went on to use the Loopy Flowers strip to decorate all the way around each bin. It was great to just peel and stick these on, love that!
These bins are almost too fancy for the trash hehehe.

May is National Scrapbooking month, and I wanted to post some great scrapbooking ideas. Today’s is a great 12×12 page that I jsut love. The colors, the signs…it’s just cool and eye catching. Such a super cool idea for that grad in your life. The sign stamp images come from the “It’s a Sign” stamp set. Colors are garden green, pacific point, real red and so saffron.

Dye your silk flowers - tutorial

Riddle: 
How do you turn a daisy into a sunflower?
Answer: With an aqua painter and ink pad refills!
Yes, it’s that easy to go from white, to Summer Sun (or any of Stampin’ Up’s color system). Start with any of the silk flowers in the Pretties kit, an aqua painter and any classic ink pad refill. Place a couple drops of the ink pad refill in a plastic lid, and use your aqua painter to paint the flower. the aqua painter tip should be wet, squeeze the tube to control the water flow. See photos below.
Allow flower to dry and VOILA! We made this card at my stamp club this month, isn’t it gorgeous? The idea came from a card on display on the SU Hawaii trip. It opens in the center. See below for a list of the main supplies used.

This is one of those simple, elegant cards that is just right. The idea came from the newest edition of Stampin’ Success magazine” (see below) that arrived last week. I can’t wait to get that each month for ideas like this one. This is the top note die in both kraft naturals and baja blue. I used the baja blue striped grosgrain ribbon and slot punch.
